Hi there, Today I ended up buying your new headlamp (HC65 UHE), as it has a greater spread of light. At least I hope so! But I wanted to leave some important notes for your next headlamp! That you make a headlamp that has a bigger battery (example; 21700), that also has a 365/395nm ultraviolet LED, and that has better heat dissipation (lots of large fins). I have your HC65(v1) and the flashlight in high light mode, it doesn't last long, going to low light mode. Something that is not good, as I work in construction. I hope this information reaches the responsible engineers. Thanks Now just hope for the best! 😂

When I put my HC65 UHE to charge and try to use it after removing the charger, it doesn't turn on. I can only get it to turn on if I open the battery cover and close it again. This happens from the first use. Can you tell me if there is any command to be given after charging the battery so that the flashlight can be turned on or did my unit arrive defective?

Does this have a long throw beam as well as a wide flood? I find that when throw distances are provided for flood lights the numbers (in meters) are misleading because the glare of the floor makes it hard to see a spot ahead of you. If it has a spot it would be good for rescue missions- spot for lighting the trail far ahead and flood for lighting a scene while you prepare someone to be placed in a litter prior to evacuation

I'll be honest, I like the older style bracket, like the one on my HC60... That new bracket doesn't look very good. The light could fall out if dropped, the clicky thing in the back for the angle adjustment is going to wear out with repeated use. Not a huge fan. Almost got one until I watched the video. Nitecore needs to make a version with the old style bracket. The 2000 lumens is real nice, and definitely an upgrade to my HC60, but not with that new bracket...

Ya I just had an older nitecore NU10 headlamp with both click tabs on the bracket broken off after it was sitting unused for a long time. Nitecore was of no help - said they're not available now. So yes that type of design needs a change so it can't fail (maybe metal) or is replaceable somehow; many options for that. Also needs a simple pad against the forehead. But the common rubber mount is really bad IMO, not sure how people tolerate those: they bounce and are impossible to adjust easily or quickly.

Nowadays, it's funny how the operating time "at a given power level" is quoted. The problem is that the working time depends on the electronic power reduction after a few minutes, sometimes even by 60-70% 🤣
@mikeenslin3009
@mikeenslin3009 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's also heavily dependent on the temperature tho. If it's colder you won't get as long of a runtime because it can sustain a higher brightness for longer.

Hi Stefan. I see that you have some deep knowledge about headlamps. May I ask some questions in private? I want to buy a headlamp and I have some doubts about specific models. I think that you will be able to answer without a marketing intention
@stefanp5261
@stefanp5261 3 ай бұрын
@@nachomolla1164Companies use various types of electronics. Sometimes the light output stabilizes, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the turbo mode has a timer and it ALWAYS runs the turbo for a certain amount of time. Some Nitecore flashlight model has maximum power for 10 SECONDS and then the power drops by several dozen percent. Other companies use ACTIVE temperature control and, for example, in winter the turbo will run for 120 seconds and in summer for 30 seconds. And in Olight or Nitecore flashlights it will always be, say, 30 seconds, regardless of the temperature. And the temperature sensor works so that we can turn on the turbo in a moment, or it will not turn on because it is too warm. Sometimes the same manufacturer uses a different type of controller. Sometimes it also artificially extends the working time regardless of the temperature. For example, at a power of 250lm, the flashlight may be on all the time because it does not heat up, and yet it will drop to a power of 100-150lm after an hour. But the operating time is stated as "in 250lm mode". And why is this done? Because manufacturer "A" gives the operating time, say, 10 hours in 250lm mode, and the other one gives 14 hours. The customer buys 14 hours because longer = better. But he doesn't know that after 45 minutes the power drops to 150lm, for example. Such manipulations are standard, regardless of the manufacturer. Therefore, if you want to buy a good flashlight and you are an informed customer, you should use goggles ;).
@stefanp5261
@stefanp5261 3 ай бұрын
@@mikeenslin3009Correct. However, the turbo mode obviously loses power - but when it loses it, the customer never knows / has no knowledge / is not informed. Another issue is the high mode - here again someone may think that this mode should be "permanent" and here again they will usually be surprised, because often the power also drops by even several dozen percent. Well, someone may think that the medium mode is definitely a constant power. And again I came across the Nitecore model, which reduces power by several dozen percent even in medium mode - in order to compare well with the competition in its technical data. But it's not just this company that operates this way. Unfortunately.

The UI seems ridiculous - double clicking for moonlight mode? Come on, does any other light even have that? (Seriously asking) Crazy that 20 years into LED flashlights, companies are still doing the random click to whatever interfaces. Seems like their design engineers are given just one requirement: here are one or two buttons, design an interface that lets you get to every mode. That's it. So unless you own only one light, they become highly annoying to use since they all work differently. At least within each brand they should be completely consistent where possible, but they can't even do that!

@@NitecoreStoreYou probably don't understand how flashlights work and you're just advertising them. Option B- you deliberately feign ignorance. You can throw this data into the trash - anyone can check it, so you don't have to send it - anyway, I provided the correct HIGH mode data. I have several dozen flashlights from well-known manufacturers and I have a lux meter, so don't tell me children's stories. I will write for people who have no idea about flashlights. An example of a 1000lm flashlight, 3000mAh battery. One manufacturer states the operating time is 1 hour, the second 2 hours, the third 4 hours, the fourth manufacturer 6 hours and the fifth 10 hours. So what is this about? Most people don't think about it, they will just buy the one that lasts the longest. To make things more fun, the flashlight that lasts the shortest is the highest quality because it has power STABILIZATION. And other flashlights reduce their power to 700, 500 or even 300lm after a minute or a few. Hence the "magic of technical data" as in the case of this headlamp.
@stefanp5261
@stefanp5261 5 ай бұрын
@@NitecoreStoreYou probably had math at school. So you know everything can be calculated. You have the "HIGHER" mode (new name) 1300lm - 5h. High 14h. Mir 100lm - 31h. So let's assume that 100lm keeps the power stable, because at this power it doesn't heat up. So it will shine at 200lm for 15.5 hours. So how on earth can 400lm shine for 14 hours?!?!?. It's a miracle that in this mode it also reduces power. And in EVERY higher mode it reduces power. These technical data make me laugh 🤣🤣. Human naivety knows no limits, just like knowledge of mathematics.
