Since several folks asked about Blast Corps after my most recent video, I wanted to make a video dedicated to my favorite N64 game. Go check it out for yourself if you enjoy the video!

Thanks for reminding me the name of this beloved game! I think that's why it remained obscure because I could never remember what to call it or even how to describe it. Even your verbal description of this wacky game barely rings a bell for me but I'd never forget any of the drivable vehicles or that *amazing overworld music!!* Hugely underrated, never met anyone else who's played it!

You and me both! I'm always so surprised at how many folks missed out on this one at the time, or just can't remember what it was called. It even got a cover on Nintendo Power if I remember correctly, but it just flew under the radar. Glad you enjoyed it!

The music for this game was amazing, and the graphics were fantastic, especially for a game which was released so early in the N64's life span. I think if some of the vehicles controlled a bit better, and if there weren't as many frustrating parts in the game where you could get stuck (and perhaps with the ability to change the difficulty of the game), and with more control over the camera, this game would have been significantly more popular than it already was, and would have been considered one of the best games ever made for the system. It's hard to believe that this entire game fit onto an 8MB cartridge. This game still got a lot of attention when it released because I think it was only the 11th N64 game released in North America.

This game was great. Driving a dump truck through a building, listening to synth-hillbilly music never got old.

Damn I used to love this game, but I never understood what I was supposed to do (too young?). Gonna have to revisit this one

Yes! I say that catch phrase all the time, but no one ever got my reference even in the context of video game-related conversations. Glad to hear someone else loves it!

My friend and I rented this, back when it was pretty new. We rented a lot of N64 games, back in those days. It was honestly pretty fun, very unique. Though it does indeed get very challenging after awhile.

Absolutely man. Some of the later levels (especially ones involving the dump truck) are tough as nails. Thanks for watching man! It's good to hear from you!

I bought this game right when it released. I already had Super Mario 64 and Star Wars SotE, so this rounded things out a bit for me. I played it a ton until I got GoldenEye...then Zelda OoT dropped and those were the only games I needed. The N64 had some great titles, had they went CD based to get better textures it would have been insane for a late 1996 released console.

I sold my copy of the game because I got all the platinum medals except 3. I didn't want to waste another minute trying to get them so I sold it and didn't want to see it again.
@BittyKongsQuest5 ай бұрын
Oh man. I love this game, but yeah, the platinum medals are ROUGH. I've never gotten them all. Some of the minigame ones are next to impossible!

Instruments of Destruction on PC is basically the unofficial sequel to this, better in every way.

I've never heard of that one, but I'll absolutely check it out! Thanks so much for the suggestion!

I remember the cult following this game had even back in the day. I never cared for it that much, personally. I didn't care for the graphical presentation, controls, or the camera. I preferred Battletanx Global Assault and SW: Rogue Squadron much, much more. I'd say Rogue Squadron was the best N64 game, imho.
@BittyKongsQuest5 ай бұрын
Oh man. I never played Battletanx, but Rogue Squadron is easily in my top five. Absolutely stellar game.

Just found your channel & subbed! I am a girl gamer & I love this game, Iam not very good at it though hahah. The later levels are sooo hard, but fun a classic!
@BittyKongsQuest5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the sub! Yeah, the later levels are super tough for sure. Very much a product of the times when it was created! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Maybe it's because I was younger but this was the hardest game, ever!

Oh man, some of the later levels are beyond frustrating. I still love it, but it definitely is a product of its time that way!
