I got my first Bliss last year, beautiful blooms. Thanks for showing these videos, we are covered with snow for weeks, today is 2 degrees...the lowest I experienced since living here in Utah zone 7a. I need Spring, sun, green garden and my roses.

I love how we also get to see that gorgeous panicle hydrangea behind it burst into bloom in that sequence with Bliss' first flush! What a beautiful combo. I'm hoping to plant some kind of peachy-apricot roses with my limelight hydrangeas in front of our house!

@@TheRoseGeek Mine are Little Limes, and they stay fairly sturdy--but I've heard that some pruning techniques can help with the strength of the stems against those enormous blooms! (Do you happen to watch Gardening with Creekside?--they're Creekside Nursery in NC, and Jenny has been a inspiration for me re. hydgrangeas!)

aww, you make me regret not having bought this rose but with limited space I've opted for two other Germans and ordered 'Scentous' and 'Earth Angel' as they usually have more stars in "fragrance" category, which is a priority for me (right next to health). Anyway, Bliss looks great.

Beautiful plant, both in bloom, and form. Just found your chanell. Subbed. New to roses. Have an old Hansa that was my great grandmother's and just ordered a Snow Pavement and Blanc Double De Coubert from High Country Roses, as they will be near the ocean spray, high winds, zone 5, etc. Hoping to learn some things from your channel. Nice choice on your music too.

So beautiful! This is my favorite rose too! I bought this rose from Chamblee’s nursery in May. I know you have several Bliss Perfuma roses. On which rootstock is she performing best in your garden? Mine is ownroot. ❤️

I have two own root. One from Rose's Unlimited and one from Antique Rose Emporium. An amazing rose. In my opinion, this is what David Austin was trying to do and never accomplished. Truly ever blooming, truly disease free, truly wonderfully scented. I have ordered 2 more. I also have 2 Kiss Me Kate from Peter Schneider, and a friend has Jasmina. The plus is that these roses are widely available, so they aren't overpriced the way Austin roses are. I got mine from 3 different sources and they were never more than $25. Some less. Both jumped out of the ground and bloomed within weeks. And they mature so quickly that I can't tell which one I got first, and I got them a year apart. I lost almost every David Austin rose I grew. At least ten. With a few exceptions, like Constance Spry, Tess and Glamis Castle, they just don't work in zone 5a, 5b and 6.

Mine are from Rose's Unlimited and Antique Rose Emporium. Both are own root.

@Sarmishtha Banerjee I can't tell them apart. That makes me think that the Rose's Unlimited one is superior. It is a one gallon as opposed to the two gallon Antique Rose Emporium. The fact that I can't tell them apart tells me that the one from RU is superior. By the way, ARE was just acquired by some individuals and no reference was made to their horticulture background, which means to me that they have none. Despite my good experiences with ARE in the past, I am going to pause them. They have had 3 price increases in the past two years. From $19.95 to $22.95 and now $24.95. And there is a new policy that if you try to add to an existing unshipped order they charge a separate full shipping fee. When I discovered this I canceled my order and placed it elsewhere. Very disappointing. I have been a customer since 2003.

HI! I purchased this from Palatine Fruit and Roses. They are located in Canada an open the first week in December for sales. You may also check All My Thyme to see if they have it on Multiflora.

I put mine (from Chamblee's nursery) in a 12" pot and it kept blooming... I thought it's small size bush but judging from your Bliss it seems to be larger than 3'x2' ( according to some online description.) Am I choking my Bliss?

What modern roses would you recommend besides something like Bliss or Earth Angel? I was thinking of adding a Sweet Mademoiselle and a Souer Emmanuelle but not sure if there might be some better varieties(something non-David Austin).

Sweet Mademoiselle is an excellent pick. The blooms are huge! It has some height to it so you will want to have it in the back of the border. I prefer Sweet M to Cathedral Bells. Other great roses are Crazy Love, Bolero, Liv Tyler, and Raspberry Cupcake.
