Critics and Box Office thought of this movie to be a failure, thinking of it to be a disappointment. But I'll tell you what. Don't listen to what they say. Agree with Igor Salaj on this one. I will also add that his idea of 'idiotic schmucks' is spot on. I read the review by one 'The Age' film critic - who no longer writes, thank heavens - who described another film as rubbish and he couldn't keep track of things nor could he follow the plot. The film he was 'critiquing' was Love Actually. I suggest that Love Actually has since become one family (and christmas) favourite. As for this version of Robin Hood - well I have seen The Adventures of Robin Hood (Errol Flynn), Robin and Marion (Sean Connery), Robin Hood- Prince of Thieves (Kevin Costner) and of course this Robin Hood (Russell Crowe). All versions are okay although the Errol Flynn's version is the obvious standout. The only one I didn't enjoy was the version with Uma Thurman as Maid Marion. Each to their own.

I'll tell you what the real critics said. In the cinema I went to, which was packed out, as soon as Robin opened his mouth the response was WTF.... since when did Robin Hood come from everywhere in the British Isles at the same time. Crowes "English" accent was appalling, Keanu Reeves in Dracula bad. And along with the D-Day landing craft used by the French kind of spoiled the film and lent even more reason to watch the 1980's Robin of Sherwood series instead.

Thanks. However, I prefer it more because of how it's hilarious that Lady Marion Loxley was tempting fate in her attempt to rescue the ram from the mud only to get herself stuck in mud along with it.
