Just wanted to say I agree with your build. Oring mount = stronger alphas / weak spacebar [alu/ss backplate] Top mount = weak alphas / good spacebar [alu backplate] Top mount with SS back plate made the alphas sound much better, the sound is now well rounded. would you categorize the mods (backspace, enter, left shift) as a bit hollow in this board? or more of the nature of o-ring/top mount boards? i have mine built with nixies + PP top mount and the alphas sound brilliant but i can't decide if i like the mods, which sound pretty similar to your vid

It's a result of case ping. Can be minimised with a little forcebreak mod on the case and by using plastic plates for the top mounting

It's ironic that the Haus which is a rip-off of the 910 actually sounds significantly better. It doesn't need force break and there is no hollowness that I hear in the 910 (even with the mods).

considering that newer keyboards came with some like "their own way" of force break mod these days, doing it manually older boards is just fine, nothing to be ashamed of. You should see, newer boards of QK, neo, even my cycle 7 has their pre applied force break, they attached some kind of rubber on each part of top and bottom case to prevent pingi-ness. I mean, if they started to give force break for us ot of the box, then they realized that manually force break-ing it is indeed a real solution for 2 pieces alu case design. It's just a simple mod anyway, idk why most of ppl hating the fact that some boards needs just small tuning to get in to the real potential. Come on, force break is costs nothing really.

nice sound! did u put one layer of tape or two layers or tape for the forcebreak mod?

thanks for watching! depending on the tape you are using you can try with 1 layer first since if it's too thick the seam gap will be very obvious and quite ugly. experiment to see which gives you the best results vs aesthetics

Hi, will a CF backplate help with the sound too?

CF will do nothing to improve sound. You will see improvements with a denser material than alu, i.e. brass, copper, steel
