Hey Mark, thanks for all the kind words. I am still making the Cajun Seasoning and am the Jaco Beach supplier, doing trades with businesses and giving it away to my real estate clients. The Jam sessions at Antoine's were lots of fun, and the first and last time I played Harmonica to thunderous applause (my memory might be exaggerating!). Speaking of Chris Cain, everytime I go to California I check to see if he is playing in L.A., and I am shocked that he never became a bigger star. Are you on his records? j.

Jeff Fisher no. i joined the band as they were finishing one cd, and left before the next one.we only toured 8 or 9 weeks that year, and played the rest of the year in the Bay Area or No Cali. that may have something to do with your question. too comfortable? he didn't like touring, i know that. you have to stay out there on the roadto build a following in blues (like BB 350 days a year), But chris has all those really superb original songs too. i don't get it either. he sings way better than Robben Ford, and his playing is a nice blend of blues, funk, fusion, and isn't so jazzy that he alienates the mainstream blues audience.How do you go from being local blues musician with a small label (Blind Pig) to a marketable commodity like Meyers or Robben or Bonamassa? or SRV for that matter. SRV paid of lot of touring dues before he was a headliner. Chris isn't a shredder like gary young, he doesnt get the 1000 guitarist wanna bees at every show., he fits into a weird slot between blues funk and fusion. and now he doesnt play any of the funk and fusion stuff. his best stuff. oh well. Ask Chris next time you see him. he might say "ya know what PETEY? That's a good question. A question i don't like to think about anymore than necessary. Like. NOT AT ALL, and NOT RIG'HT NOW" or he might be real nice and delineate all his thoughts on the subject. i dunno. let me know what he says- :p ciao mt

I subbed for my friend Art Alm at the Davenport Inn. Good food. A german guy who bought the place. TERRIBLE service.
