In this video, my friend Eddie and I head to Leicester to watch the new production of Billy Elliot the Musical. This is one of my favourite shows of all time, and in this video, I talk about my thoughts on this new 2022 Leicester Curve production of Billy Elliot.

not long seen it and it was so amazing and the dancing is greta noit to mention the kids are all fairly local theatre groups. im gonna go see it again next week, great vlog

I haven't seen this version and have only seen Billy Elliot once in London shortly before it closed, but it is one of my absolute favourite musicals and the story of how it became to be a West End show I find really interesting. Dancing Sam!

Hey lovely ! I’ve been a fan of yours for years and I’m an usher at the curve , so gutted I didn’t see you that day!:((( The reason they used guns at the end of shine is because they decided to change the music to resemble “Chicago”, hence the jazz music , the girls holding newspapers and the two girls holding guns (like Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly being murderers) , all things that are associated with that musical. Hope that makes some sort of sense!x

Excellent vlog😀. Was there a particular reason that the evening show was brought forward to 5.30pm? (normally 7.30pm). The cast didn't get much of a rest after the matinee performance at 2.15pm.

Oooh lucky you Sam, I’ve heard nothing but great reviews about this production. I saw BE when it was at the Palace Victoria, and then again on tour, it’s my Hubby’s favourite too. LOVE my theatre - my fave show of all time being Miss Saigon ❤️ I hope someone revives that someday soon.

Regarding the guns… the whole second half of Shine felt like a riff on Chicago to me. The newspapers & headlines & guns & orchestration all seemed to refer to Chicago. I agree that it seemed a little odd but it fits if they were referencing Chicago.
