Hi there,
#skateboarding
#skate
#progression
#kickflip
this is my skateboard progression video during my first two years. As a kid I got not beyond cruisin around...
I was 39 years old in 2019 when I finally decided to give skateboarding a real try. My goal was to learn how to ollie up a curb. A skill I never managed as a kid. This was quite a challenge for me. But once after I got started skateboarding was so much fun to me that I continued ...
I typically skate about 3 hours a week. Filming myself helped me to realize that I nevertheless progressed steadily week by week. However, this is not "another amazing progression video" that you typically find here at youtube. This is "steady work" and nevertheless a lot of fun to me. Practice makes perfect!
I hope you enjoy watching. It is never too late to start and learn new things!!!
And if you like it I am also looking forward to your constructive feedback.
My special thanks go out to various youtube channels that helped me to learn and improve and motivated me during my journey:

#Johnny Giger
#Tactics Boardshop
#Nollie Skateboarding
#David Lehto

Thanks Bro 👊. I agree, typically you find amazing progression videos (well deserved!). But I also get frustrated watching those cause I feel that my progression is really really slow compared to that … but I guess that applied to a lot of topics on KZfaq … in the end it’s all about enjoying your time on the skateboard and having a good time. If so progression is inherent. Keep skating 🙏🛹🤘🏿

Awesome. I watched everything and enjoyed it all. I'm 38 and getting back to skate after 10 years break more or less (skated 10 years before). Haha. Same situation for me.. just hopped back on the board recently after a long time off it (haven’t skated properly for over 15 years, but I still have those moments where I look at my board and fancy having a quick go..) Feels like learning to skate all over again.. I have 2 daughters that are 5 years old that have taken an interest after having a go on my old setup. so It’s cool to see someone that’s got 2 years on me still having fun with it! Makes me want to jump on right now! Anyways. Loved the vid. Good on you for taking this up at 40 and finding that joy that I remember from skating with buddies back in the day! Best of times.

Haha I relate to this. I did my last one drunk out side of a bar with a beer in my hand and literally probably skate 10 mins a year. Landed it clean on someone else’s jannnky board at probably 1 am with barely any light. My friends I was with never knew I had ever stepped on a board. Idk who was more surprised, Me or them. Landed it first try. The only thing I really remember from that night lol

@@griizzd lols Well my story is half as spectacular. Last year it took like 10 (committed) tries. I was ready to give up, but at the last attempt I yelled “for !”, who was watching. Thanks mate 👊 I am glad that my progression video is useful for you. I believe it’s not about how good we skate and how nicely we land tricks crushing the skateparks (even though I would love to be capable to do). Most important for me is to have a great time and to take the freedom not to think about perception of others. Just do what feels right and follow your heart. Otherwise I would have quit within days after I started my journey. So get back on the board and see what your heart is telling you. Cruisin around with a smile on your face is well invested time! Love it. Great work and stoked to read all the support. It was hard to watch you go through most of it without a brain bucket however. I was happy to see you found one later on. Stay safe.

Thanks man 👊 yeah I am honestly also overwhelmed by the attention paid to my „insignificant“ video. The feedback and support is awesome and it’s great to understand that I am not the only guy tryin to learn this at an age beyond 20 y. Regarding safety: fully agreed. Don‘t want to suffer any serious injury. Love my brain as it is … keep pushing! 🛹💪🤘🏿

Man, You Rock! You deserved all the joy that reads on your face! I'm 37 now - back to skateboarding after a long break and absolutely happy with it. Miss the youth years and the company of my crazy friends. Now i skate alone but i 've found it so exciting - overcoming fear gives a huge charge of positive emotions that we need so much in the modern world. Keep sk8!

Thanks a lot dude. I totally agree to what you say! Overcoming own fears, set goals and achieve them, reward yourself by landing a trick: that’s what drives me to go skating whenever I can find the time. It’s my precious time. Keep shredding🛹💪🤘

Thanks a lot mate! It’s awesome that my video is inspiring you. Yes please keep going. There is definitely progression linked to every skating session. Also tiny steps will finally have an impact. This is my basic summary and learning: be patient with yourself. On the long run you will achieve your goals. Keep pushing! 🛹💪🏽

I'm impressed! one thing about skating.. it singles out the wusses and the quitters REAL QUICK!!! people don't realize how empowering skating can be in all aspects of life

Thank you so much! Yeah especially at the beginning it was really tough to stick to it. Felt completely clueless and talent free … but filming helped me to realize my tiny progression steps … and after first stationary ollie attempts the train was unstoppable … Also for me this experience is beyond skateboarding. And it also still feels very special every time I find the time to skate.

Rock on! I really enjoy watching the subtle changes in your body movement. At first you are very stiff, but towards the end we can see how much flow you have with everything from your legs, arms and even back. Keep killin' it!
@never2l82skate1
@never2l82skate1 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro! Indeed I realized the same. That's one of the reasons I decided to film myself. To observe the tiny steps that you do not realize within the process in between skating sessions. Still not really satisfied. But I guess there is always room for improvement ... But I feel much much more confortable on the board today.
