My First 24 HOURS In Helsinki Finland !! I Never Expected This
Welcome to Helsinki The capital city of Finland. Its my first day here and im spending my first 24 HRS with you all here in Helsinki.
My first impressions about this country is how ppl are happy here and extremely friendly. The first ppl i interacted with were full of good energy which made me feel at home in Finland. I visited lots of places like the square market where they sell Finnish food like the Small fish known as mwiko which i extremely enjoyed, it was served along with potatoes and salad which i paid 15 Euros but it was so delicious and worth the price.
I visited the helsinki cathedral as well which is one of the major landmarks in Helsinki it was an amazing experience checking it out and its free of charge so be sure to check it out as well if you ever visit Helsinki.
I Fell in love more with the Finnish ppl due to their good vibes and being very happy.

I am in Finland and as a Kenyan I also find Finnish people so helpful. Trust me they can take you to your homestead if you happen to get lost. You might find them not talkative but when you approach them they will talk to you with happiness. Enjoy this beautiful country Finland. ❤

The actual beauty of Finland for Finns is not so much about the towns, cities or parks. Most Finns find true nature outside urban areas more enjoyable and beautiful in different seasons. The always changing seasons and true nature, which is accessable for all, is more relevant to happiness than urban areas. Though, of course you would also like to have your urban areas to be pleasing. Nordic climate is fairly harsh making maintaining gardens and parks a challenge.

Luo word _"omena"_ means a certain fish of Lake Victoria related to carps, however there is also Finnish word _"omena"_ which means an apple. That African fish is also known as _"mukene"_ which resembles the Finnish name of vendace, _"muikku"_ but vendaces are related to salmons. They probably sold also _"omena"_ in that market place because it's their harvest time but if you asked them you'd get apples.🤣

True story about my first 24 hours in Finland: I went out on the town and ended up in a bar with my Finnish friends. There was one middle-aged bearded guy at the bar, who I had a conversation with. Very nice guy, good chat. Afterwards, one of the locals asked me if I know who that is. It was Mr. Lordi 😂

As a Finn it makes me smile when you say so many times it`s cold, only 12 degrees celsius. For me it´s the best weather, I like the best autumn when there is not so warm, or even hot. Any way, a good footage of yours, all the best to your travels where ever you go. Take care.

Dee,I know 12 degrees. You will find it very cold because you are not used to it ,like we in these European countries do. From September In Europe the summer☀️☀️ weather is almost ending and we are now approaching the Autumn ⛅️🌤☁️,so from now on you will be noticing people will starts to carry either a jumper,cardigan or waterproof jackets. Also this the time when the tress or flowers 💐 will starts shedding their leafs🍃🌿 or flowers🥀. 🍃.

@@irenestrmnss4496 I wouldn´t say Iceland to be colder or either norther. If you compair the wether to Oslo or Helsinki that are far more south, but my home town/city of Kokkola (located in the west coast of Finland) is actually at the same hight as Reykjavik. Kemi is propably at the middle hight if we watch from the map of Finland and it is about 300km more north than Kokkola.

@@DeeMwango the fish dish at the market was expensive. 15 euros is much for a lunch without drinks. The market is full of tourists so the prices are high. Sorry. In capital cities prices are high. But sure there are good meals for less money if you look around and ask the locals. 😊 about the weather and 12 *+ . The people behind you had just t shirts on, even the child. Cause it was sunny weather and in the sun the degrees are higher than 12. The degrees are measured in the shadows 😅welcome to Norway 😊

Friendliness can have different forms and be though differently in different circumstances and cultures. Being helpful and helping others, including strangers, is an old cultural tradition in Finland. People understand that everyone can need some help sometimes. It has roots in older times when the very survival of a community and individuals could depend on mutually helping others. And I would expect that most foreigners living in Helsinki share similar attitude. Language barriers though can make situations more challenging. It is often more simple and even faster just to take the person to the place where she or he is going than to try to make sure you understand the question perfectly and the one asking understanding your instructions for the route.

Do note the yellow city bikes are not regular for rent bikes, but part of the regional transport system (HSL). This means they share some payment methods and you can use HSL route planner to plan trips that combine public transport and the bikes.

It's the starting of Autumn. You will also need to dress warm. No shorts!! Only long pants,warm tights and jeans. Wear a very warm jumper/ jersey or very warm 🧥 jacket. Keep warm! I lived in Finland for 10 years,it is my second home😊.

Well,all of Scandinavia score pretty well on the happiness scale,hardly a surprise because Scandinavia is probably the most advanced in the world in terms of social welfare,equality of the sexes,human rights,technology, social justice ,low corruption, health care,education,environmental care,and lastly a more egalitarian society than say the US where there's such a huge disparity in wealth where you have some of the richest individuals in the world as well as some of the poorest. But the downside of living in a more equal society is the very high taxes that the Scandinavians have to pay, way higher than the US or UK.
