Hi there,
this is my skateboard progression video during my first three years. As a kid I got not beyond cruisin around...
I was 39 years old back in 2019 when I finally decided to give skateboarding a real try. My goal was to learn how to ollie up a curb. A trick I never managed to learn as a kid. Honestly, this was a challenge for me. But once after I got started, skateboarding was so much fun to me that I continued ...
I typically skate about 3 hours a week. Filming myself helped me to realize that I nevertheless progress steadily week by week. However, this is not "another amazing progression video" that you typically find here at youtube. This is "steady work" and nevertheless a lot of fun to me. Practice makes perfect!
I hope you enjoy watching. It is never too late to start and learn new things!!!
And if you like it I am also looking forward to your constructive feedback. You may also want to check out my previous progression videos.
My special thanks go out to various youtube channels that enabled me to learn and improve and motivated me during my journey (I typically teach all tricks myself via youtube):

#Nollie Skateboarding
#David Lehto

At 46 years old, I started during Covid and I’ve become completely addicted to it. Your video is an inspiration. I’m progressing at about the same rate as you minus the kickflip. You should know that there is another person in the world that is sharing your falls, defeats, progression, and joy. I laughed at how pumped you were on that axle stall. I did the same exact thing!!! Two fist pumps to the sky!! Keep rolling. Your kicking ass!!

I couldn't imagine doing this all alone. We used to skate in packs. Others would push you out of your comfort zone to learn harder tricks. I remember doing my first 3 stair because I kept getting taunted for being scared. I did it scared, then it wasn't scary. Stairs are just height and distance. If you can land off a ledge, with more speed you can Ollie stairs that high. Then turn it around and Ollie up the same stairs. Looks like you took a lot of advice to loosen up also. Bend your knees, they're taking a lot of pressure off your spine. Really impressed with your progressing. If you show up when the teens are there you may learn by watching them too. I suggest you put your backside 180 together with your kick flip next. You will be surprised at how natural it feels.
@never2l82skate1
@never2l82skate1 Жыл бұрын
Thank mate! Highly appreciated 🙏 Yeah it’s unexpectedly challenging to lower my stance and bend my knees more. I guess it’s also related to my level of comfort on the board. But I think I steadily get more relaxed, step by step … at least I try to push it in that direction. To combine the BS180 with the kickflip sounds great. I will definitely give it a try! In general it’s really difficult to me to learn flip tricks and it takes a lot of time as well. But that kind of applies to skateboarding in general (at least for me). From time to time I also join skateparks in more regular and crowded hours. And it’s fun to watch the more advanced skaters. However these hours of the day do not fit to my personal calendar. Typically I go for the early bird session. Nevertheless a lot of fun to me. Was definitely the right decision to give skateboarding a trysts to out some effort into it. Take care and keep pushing! 🛹💪

Really nice journey so far! I used to skateboard when I was a teenager but never committed to actually learning tricks, just used to cruise around. Now I am 32 years old and getting back to skateboarding, but this time trying to learn tricks (waay harder now). Its challenging 'cause I dont have much time (I have a 2 years old baby, and another on the way), but I really want to learn and become "good" (as much as possible considering the context), so I can teach my daughters. Quite frustrating sometimes since evolution is really slow and every fall is a pain, but your video inspired me to continue. Nice job man, keep up with the work!
