Two videos in one weekend? Yup! Another short one. I’ve been admiring and watching videos on coffee and tea dyeing as well as eco dyeing paper and fabrics and I decided to jump in and try it! I’ve got some Alum and some pretty flowers this summer, so eco dyeing will be sometime in the not too distant future. I need to do a bit more research on that though before I try it.
I used some laminating sheets with nothing in them, just ran them through the laminator, to place between layers. I did so until I got to the lace (plastic coated) table cloth, then I just let the lace be on both sides of the paper. I also used a misting bottle filled with coffee to mist over the paper once I placed the stencils or lace down. I used instant espresso granules dissolved in hot water (just from the tap, not heated) and made it quite strong. About 1/2 cup of espresso granules to 1-1/2 cups water. In the misting bottle I didn’t really measure, just poured until I had about an inch high in the bottle and then filled with hot tap water.
Will they turn out? As I frequently say with my glass work, let’s see what happens!
