My First Day as a Tourist in Makassar Sulawesi

I've arrived in Sulawesi to see what its like to visit as a tourist and my first city is Makassar! After finally finding a motorbike, we drove an hour north to visit Ramang Ramang. Known for it's famous canals and limestone cliffs, tourists can take a boat ride to Kampung Berua ( a small village on a lake). After arriving back in Makassar we explored the city trying some local street food local to only Makassar.

Indonesia looks so underrated, outside of Bali of course which gets 96% of the attention from travellers. Not hating on Bali it’s just refreshing to see something different! Nice video, how’s the cuisine there? SE Asian cuisine is always great

Yes Indonesia not only bali. But Indonesia have island another which so beautiful. as Raja Ampat. Lombok. Pulau seribu. Sulawesi. Kalimantan. Belitung island, Sumatra and batam bintan this is so beautiful

There are many places of natural beauty in Indonesia and Asean but none of them have the combination of historic, artistic and cultural offering of Bali. My country Malaysia has some very beautiful islands and natural sites too but boring as hell because there are a lot of things you cannot have or do in the majority Muslim culture; no nightlife, no statues or paintings of living things, traditional culture being replaced by Arabic one and so on Yes, you can explore some of these places out of curiosity like I did visiting dozen of sites in Indonesia but Bali is the one I always go back to, so I because it is the only place that 'having it all' in one island.

that area is part of the second largest karst area known in the world after the one in south-eastern china..the karst area is 43,750 hectares expand from maros to pangkep (rammang2 is located in maros) with 286 caves including 16 pre-historic caves in Maros and 17 pre-historic caves in Pangkep..on those pre historic caves u can found hands stencils n some wild boar draws..it is also the site of prehistoric women's skeleton that dated with the aged over 7,2 k years ago that rewrited some human history

Wow, what a vacation. If you are still in South Sulawesi, there are some good places to visit, such as the University of Hasanuddin, the view is beautiful surrounded by shady trees, it is not far from the Hasanuddin Airport, Fort Rotterdam in the middle of Makassar, a waterfall tour, Bantimurung in maros, The Malino Forest Tour Area of Gowa, Cape Bira in fur district, Toraja is also very nice but quite far from the town of Makassar. Do not forget the culinary tour, coto Makassar exploratory retreat 😊😀👍

Hi there, greetings from Hong Kong. It's so nice to see vloggers from abroad traveling around the less traveled islands of Indonesia. I'm sick and tired of watching the same old Island called Bali covered by foreigners! There's nothing new about the island(Bali) these days !It is a beautiful island(Bali)though but there are more beautiful islands out there in Indonesia but only waiting to be explored and exposed!! Actually Makassar has many tourists also before the pandemic. Most of them visit Tana Toraja. Also few times a year some big cruises with a lot of tourist arrive on the port.

Never seen Ramang-Ramang's fish lakes flooded that high I live in Makassar and last time I went there it's a lot drier Around Somba Opu Street, you just passed one of my high school friend's house, but you have to enter a correct hallway around that street first and there are tons of them Mie Titi's famous dish is a plate of dried crispy noodles. It's delicious and it's one of my favourite food. You're lucky to eat one Enjoy your trip in Sulawesi! There's a lot more to visit: Pare-Pare, Toraja, Lake Matano and Towuti, and many more

next time you visit Makassar, you should definitely try some more local cuisines like Coto makassar and konro', and some good restaurants that serve those such as Coto Ranggong and Coto Nusantara.

teringat beberapa tahun yang lalu pertama kali saya ke Makassar sendiri karena kerjaan, rental motor dari Bandara tidak tahu sama sekali jalanan Makassar sebelumnya, kaget jalannya besar2 dan kebetulan menginap dekat pantai losari wow ternyata bagus banget bersih dan tidak lupa mencoba pisang epek di sekitar pantai, hampir sama dengan pisang plenet di tempat saya Semarang

Just behind the hospital near your hotel you can find some best seafood restaurant in Makassar such as New Dinar Restaurant etc. Makassar cuisine specialty are Konro Bakar , Konro Soup, Coto Makassar and Pallu Basa.

Prov.sulsel memang banyak Destinasi Wisatanya selain di Toraja yg sdh sangat Viral, di maros ada wisata mancing sambil bakar2 ikan, di Kab Sidrab dengan wisata sawah, di Kab.Soppeng wisata Alam yang sangat sejuk dan boleh juga berkunjung di salah satu Desa yang Bebas dari asap Rokok di Kab Enrekang satu puntung rokokpun tdk akan kalian dapatkan kalau ada akan kena denda hehe Hebat kann..ayo ayoo jadikan sulsel jadi Salah satu Destinasi Wisata yang Terbaik ewakooo

Makassar has a lot of beautiful island, u can go to samalona island. Just cross by boat in front of benteng sumba opu (near losari beach), 10 minute trip to the island.

Too bad, I always want to go to Makassar since it's only an "island hop" from Surabaya, but I always thought there won't be any sight seeing worth there except for the fortress. makassar is more like a transit business hub to east indonesia..., that's why almost no foreign tourists, even for domestic tourists they go to toraja (and ramang2 of course) via makassar. please try Sarabba drink. Mie titi is makassar's version of ifumie

To explore Makassar, u need a long time. The longer u are in Makassar, the more beautiful places u will find. like u're diving in the ocean. The deeper u go, u will find pearls. I like ur video tho. Good luck. Hope u can come back for vacation here

Since Makassar is a seaside city, the 1 of most popular culinary is the seafood! If you want a view on more modern city side of Makassar, you can try going to "Petterani street" area. Since you don't have problem eating pork , i reccomend you to try "Mie Pangsit Palu", located on Sungai Limboto street. Since Makassar is one of the city with a lot Chinese population, you can find a lot Chinese infused restaurant here & there which also become a culinary spot for tourists who didnt have problems eating pork.

Also there are a lot of actual Beach around Makassar, the nearest one is Pantai Akkarena which located around Tanjung Bunga area and can be reached by land transportation. But the popular one is Pantai Bira, but you need to ride a boat to get there.
