Got off this ship last week Jay, the best entertainment was Samulous in the cabaret. He is a nice guy also, boy can he hit the high notes. Beautiful ship! The very back of the buffet was the least crowded and Reuben from Kenya is a standout in the very back coffee area. Have fun and look forward to your videos!

Thank you for taking the time to post your videos on MSC. I have been watching them thoroughly because we booked MSC Europe for 8/18/23 out of Barcelona. I have a 16-year-old old son with ASD. My husband and I do our best to expose him to various types of cultures and experiences, which helps to increase his social and communication skills. We have been sailing with him for a few years now mainly on RCL and Celebrity. Last year, we traveled to Portugal with him, which was an incredible experience for all of us. Anyways, I am going on the ship with an open mind and have been planning things out even though our trip is 9 months out. Your videos have been extremely helpful in helping me plan our cruise on World Europa.

If you want to know mainly what you do need to know, here is it: The elevators take a long time to get to you, especially if your destination is far away. Interior rooms are much larger in space than balcony rooms, and some balcony rooms (specifically mine) had a bunk bed, It was comfortable. In the first or second day, definitely arrange your packages, and get a restaurant package (they are expensive, but if you can handle it, they are VERY much worth it, they are located on the infinity pool deck) Which do I recommend? I recommend HOLA! a Mexican restaurant with great and steaming hot food! and the Ocean Cay restaurant which has great food! I ate in every restaurant but the kaito teppanyaki. Butchers cut is a expensive, but nice diner and it has great food (which I will say is pretty expensive) Its nothing over the top but its pretty decent, kaito sushi bar is a unique experience, but almost half of the things on the menu weren't on the conveyor belt and everything that was supposed to be cold, was hot, and everything supposed to be hot, was cold, but its not like it was the worst. Its a decent pick for not-so picky eaters that are looking for a "cheap" but unique experience. Every other restaurant (excluding the other kaito restaurant) was a meh, it wasn't that bad but its not great. Now for beverage packages, what I can say is order whichever one suits your likings. Me a pretty young person, got the magic island almost EVERY time we were at a bar, and what I can say is that its really refreshing, so try it out! The gelato on board was a bit expensive, but it was great for its price, especially for its flavors, and the pirates cove waterslides and water park was a BLAST! it was really fun and I rode the waterslides a lot of times! Just for extra information, you need to sign a waiver before riding some (they aren't dangerous, its just for precaution) The buffet was good, it rotated every day, but for picky eaters (kids) the kids section (which almost never changed) was good, I never ate there but it seemed nice and it didn't look bad. As for the non-kid food, it was great and the food got better as our vacation progressed (in the end, they had great pork belly!) and the buffet was only open for times that they weren't changing out the food. and for my hash brown lovers, go for them, they are just as great as any hash browns, and let me tell you that line for them is WORTH IT! Also note that the fruits aren't as great, nor are the deserts, but you always have venchi! As for things you should DEFENITELY visit, the jungle pool, not only does it have a retractable roof for THOSE nice and hot days, it has its own humidifier and temperature as soon as you go in. No matter what its ALWAYS hot, and my favorite part, well the pool is SALT WATER! Its so unique and calming, that no matter what, day or night, it will be the best spot for relaxing, or hanging out, or even swimming! Now for the special parts, the shops were nice (they were EXPENSIVE) but they were always free to visit and it was nice visiting them once in a while. The perfume shop was my personal favorite (I love smelling perfumes) and the best shopping places were at time square where there was occasionally people singing and playing the piano and more! The bridge of sighs was truly a great experience, but if that's to packed for you, just go to the infinity bridge (located on the side of the ship, on the deck of HOLA! restaurant on the opposite side) is also a calming and great experience, theres barely anybody there since almost nobody sees it or recognizes it. I might have left some things out, but that's the ship review in my personal opinion! Side note: MSC ocean cay, at least when I went, had no food and was just a beach with some shops and a nice marina.

Those type of elevators are called destination dispatch. They’ve been around now for about 15 or so years. They are not extremely common, but are more likely to be seen in newer buildings. 5:26
@ricktaylor5397

That elevator procedure is common in modern office buildings. The system only allocates elevators that have room to that floor. Avoids waiting for an elevator only to have it full when it opens on your floor.

That elevator system is known as “destination dispatch”. This allows the elevator system to optimize which floors an elevator needs to stop at, minimizing the average total travel time for all passengers. The main advantage is that the system can load people from multiple stops into the same car, since they all requested the same destination. The “normal” system you are used to - where you have up/down buttons near the elevators, is known as “hall call”. But with hall call, the elevator system can only know where to stop to pick you up, but has no idea what eventual destination button you might press in the elevator. This makes the average trip time slower. (I know all this because I wrote simulation software for elevator dispatching in my younger days).

Have fun 🎉 Regarding the elevator, it’s also a new system in some hospitals in Miami. I was in MSC , very large ships. On Royal Caribbean, they had the drill first before the rooms, much better process. Oh, yes, that reservation screen is the bomb. ❤

I've seen the elevators in many office buildings in Toronto. Love them, as they cut down on the "hold the elevator" people, prevent you from stopping on every floor, and on a cruise ship, should cut down on people cutting in front of you to get on an elevator.

Interestingly, on Italian ships there is deck 13, but not 17, because in Italy 13 brings good luck, while 17 brings bad luck (17 in Roman numerals is equivalent to XVII, transliterated it becomes VIXI, which in Latin means "lived", that is, the past tense of the verb to live). 🤓😜
