I love hearing you talk about Shakespeare, you make it sound easy. Glad you liked The Secrets of Hartwood Hall, I loved it as well!

Thank you! I’m hoping to do a Shakespeare focused video soon. And I’m so glad to hear that! It was great.

I enjoyed "Dickens and Prince: A Particular Kind of Genius" so much. I'm so glad you liked it too. I found it so interesting and full of great little stories about both artists, and Hornby draws interesting parallels that seem smart. If you haven't already tried it I would recommend Hornby's "Ten Years in the Tub: A Decade Soaking in Great Books" which is similar. I find Hornby's prose so easy to absorb it barely even counts as reading. Reading his erudite analyses makes me feel smart! Thank you so much for your channel which I am enjoying a lot, You give me inspiration when I'm having a reading lull. I just ordered The Overcoat - looking forward to a nice short story having recently finished Anna Karenina.

I'll add my vote in favour of the whit board !!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it would be so much fun (and help me learn a lot more about how to read and appreciate Shakespeare) I'm so glad you've broken your reading slump... I seem to have been stuck in one myself for a couple of months now... Still working on David Copperfield and have started "Mexican Gothic" which is a lot of fun in a very different way

All these positive responses to the whiteboard is definitely persuading me to order one haha. And I hope you’re able to get out of your slump as well! Mexican Gothic is so fun and David Copperfield is one of my favorites 😊

ahh I'm so glad you loved Macbeth! I had so much fun with this in highschool. This is definitely one of the books I want to teach in my future classroom. It may be time for a Macbeth reread over the summer when I'll be home 😂

I've read 17 books so far and over half of them have been for class! Some of my favorites so far are The House on Mango Street, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Antigone, and The Importance of Being Earnest. I'm taking a poetry and drama class this semester, so I've read a lot of plays!

Hi Valerie! My reading quarter has been occupied with the mega Dickens read-a-long with Books and Things, including Katie’s book, which you succinctly described and I agree with you! You’re so passionate about Shakespeare that I must be missing something-I need to revisit him. I read the KJV Bible so the Elizabethan English will not hinder me-so what does? Lately I’ve been reading The Love Poems of John Donne-it’s a little anthology that I picked up in a used bookstore. Waiting patiently for your next video! Happy reading.

I think finding “my” Shakespeare play was the key to appreciating all his other ones! I also had a great teacher. Thanks for watching and happy reading!
