This is my 3rd Go Wild. I began attending when they had it in California. My plan is to attend each year if it's in my budget. I attend because it's a week for me to treat myself, enjoy people with the same interest without being called crazy, and you get to travel to different places. This year I was able to meet my planner bestie for the very first time. Go Wild is the conference for me.

It was great to meet you. I love hearing everyone's experiences. I, too, was so impressed with Martha. She's the reason I finally bought my ticket and she did not disappoint. All of the speakers had wonderful messages. Very empowering!

I never heard of the silver lamas. I have always been hesitant to go because I thought it was just 20-30ish mainly. Thank you for the info.

@@gatherandlearnsisters yes!!! Me too! That’s why I subscribed so I can stay connected. I’m waiting for them to make the announcement of the next location. Last year it was around July or August they did it. Maybe August because that’s when I registered.

OOOOH yeah. (1) FOOD. There was absolutely not enough food for everyone at the "energy breaks." I barely got yogurt Friday, Saturday I ran up because I was hungry. People with mobility issues could not get to the food at all since it was on a different floor (and the escalator broke on Saturday, and the only elevator you could realistically take from the main room to the snacks area was a tortoise that could barely handle a scooter and a single person). There is no way they ordered enough food for the number ofpeople in attendance. (Which is weird, because there was enough food at the Planjama to eat dinner.) (2) MAD DASH TO THE TABLES. There were people in line before 6 a.m. despite the published rule that the line was not to start until 6:30. GIRLS! If you can afford to be at Go Wild, you can afford to buy any swag you see at another table that you don't get. For the love of all that is holy, it doesn't matter which table you sit at. None of the tables I saw were "bad"--every one had decorations and a generous amount of gifts. (3) GOOD PEOPLE. I met great people too! I loved the speakers and the workshops too. I really enjoyed the Archer & Olive session on creativity for mental health.

Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed hearing what you thought about the conference. It is so true if you can afford to go to the conference then you can buy any swag you want. All the speakers was exceptional and you are right it was hard for people with mobility issues to get around. Over all I enjoyed it too and all the people I met!🙂

Cloth and Paper sponsor the energy breaks vs Happy Planner sponsoring the food for Planjama.

@@covergirlplannerbabe7203 Sure, but that's no reason to not order enough food. This is not a matter of budget for the sponsor but of planning for the conference. There are multiple ways to solve this problem that do not involve leaving people (including but not limited to those with mobiity issues) going hungry and DO involve ordering enough food. (When you do conference food, you order from a variety of packages depending on what food you want. There are a wide variety of options at most places, at a variety of price points. You order and pay "per head.") They can choose a less expensive catering plan, for example, or less fancy food. If the cost to feed everyone is too high for Cloth & Paper or whoever the sponsor is, the conference can have a co-sponsor for energy breaks, or Cloth & Paper (or whomever) can sponsor one while another company sponsors another. They could use some of the conference badge fee to pay for it. My point is that as someone who has planned conferences (and attended a wide variety of them too) it was clear that they had not ordered enough food for everyone. When you advertise that you have "energy breaks" and include it a part of the conference, you're telling people "we will give you food." (Not a meal, but at least snacks.)

@@ElizabethRBain Cloth and Paper had a better variety and it was enough food in Anaheim in my opinion. I forgot what they had but it was enough and nothing fancy. I have learned my lesson to eat before I leave the room...just my personal experience.

@@covergirlplannerbabe7203 I'm talking about Dallas, not Anaheim. There were individual mini-pastries and a yogurt bar with toppings, which is relatively fancy for hotel breakfast/brunch group break service. (Usually the most basic spread is full-sized pastries and coffee/tea.) On day one the food was literally gone before half the people made it into the room. (As you may have heard, we broke the escalator the first day.) People were not being particularly greedy from what I saw on the plates leaving the room on my way there. On the second day I was one of the first people in the room so I got to see the entire spread. Again IDK about Anaheim, but at Dallas it was very clear that they did not order food for the number of people attending the conference.
