You really need to ease yourself into riding a fast bike. I've owned 4 bikes (100cc, 125cc, and 2x 175cc) none of which you'd call fast. One day I did a test-ride of a 650 and nearly killed myself. I took it easy at first and then got to a long straight (B-road) and decided to go full throttle. I nearly fell off the back of the bike with the combination of balance, G-Force, wind effects, etc. You don't really get that physicality when you go full throttle in a car. So ease up to it.

Absolutely fantastic Paul, you have unwittingly just reinvigorated not only your channel but yourself as well, as you progress through your lessons and on to your own bikes you will realise that not even tens of thousands of pounds of Lamborghini can give you the same buzz as a motorcycle. It’s a whole different world not only personally but socially as well, you will never be lonely as a biker. For what it’s worth for somebody who has never touched a motorbike you were doing exceedingly well. Just take your time, be smooth and look where you want to go. Good luck on your fantastic two wheeled journey and hope to see you on a 1000cc superbike in the future 😉 Your best video to date

I took the direct access course too in May / June. Incredible to think I’ve gone from never been on a bike to having a full licence in what amounts to be about 30 hours of bike riding / tuition still confounds me. I’ve got to say, though, even though I’m very much a novice rider, it’s the best thing I’ve done. Welcome to the brotherhood of bikers (of both/all sexes). My first bike is now purchased and funnily enough is a Honda CB650R a 2019 bike and I LOVE it .. Enjoy it, keep the vids coming and stay upright and safe

Good on you mate well done. I've had my bike license for just under 2 years now and I'm loving it. I'm on just allowed now to ride any size bike I want. Here in New South Wales, Australia you must do a pre learners course which is 7 hours over 2 days, then you must pass a knowledge test before you can get a learners permit. You must be on the learners (L plates) for a min of 3 months and max 12 before you progress to a Provisional licence (red P plates) which last for 12 months. If you're under 25 and or have had a license less than 5 years you must then go on green P's for 2 years. Then you're a full license holder and can ride anything.

Congratulations, I wish you well with it and perhaps do not even worry about filming until you get all of your testing done and then maybe make a few films where you just ride with just the sounds of the bike and I think it would be quite enjoyable for us to enjoy a bike ride.. Approximately 40. Years ago I got my license here in Wisconsin.I was licensed to ride any size bike and I decided to buy a 650 or 750 and I had 2 things that happened that caused me never to ride again I was licensed and scared spotless. Trying out a new bike I got hit by a stone in the face shield that was large enough to snap my head back but I managed to slow up and stop on the side. A few days later I was trying out a used 750cc bike and it caught on fire in the engine area, another words right between my legs and I got stopped and away from the bike and watched wiring burn completely out of the bike. There is more to the story but after that I never rode again I felt God was trying to tell me something. But I-wish you well because it’s quite enjoyable .

Great video, you conveyed the exact feelings and emotions I went through doing my CBT, I was bricking it! You looked a lot smooth than I think probably did....the bike the training centre put me on looked like it had been dragged out of a quarry, it was a real bag of nails so that probably didn't't help, not a Honda I should add....

Congrats! It's been 35 years since I rode, I've been thinking of getting back into bikes. Thanks for some motivation 👍

It was 28 years since I last rode but in march I bought myself a new Honda CB650R at the age of 52, my 911 has been out of the garage only twice since then the bike is so pure and exhilarating makes the Porsche feel tame

Haha, atleast you had 1:1 tutoring and public road training. With me it was in a large group. Luckily I watched some KZfaq videos on how to shift, brake, handling and all that before (and I had driven mopeds/scooters before), so luckily I looked like a natural who knew what he was doing. The others had no idea, were just thrown into the deep end, sorta like 'here's the bike, figure it out'. After a while of training on a closed course, mostly brake tests, we went back inside, I was like 'ah, good, I could use a little break in between', but that was it already! No tests or nothing, participate, licence next day. xD Chaos lad.

Now that's a direction I would love to see you explore.. Bikes r no doubt scary but once you get confident and start enjoying a bike ride you will start to appreciate the freedom riding a bike can give you.. The feeling of the wind hitting your chest or the wild exploring you can do on a adv bike is difficult to get in a car (as it is always restricted).. Anyway all the best, ride safe and welcome to the 'other side'..
