oh man! I'm originally from NorCal (living in Europe now), and seeing those rolling green hills of the delta/east bay just gives me all the feels. Good luck on your first pair of pointe shoes, I remember my first time I think I tried on 7 pairs and 3 different brands till I found the ones that felt "ok", lol

Gaynors are really the only ones that are a no-go for beginners. My class was a large mix between Nikolay, Freeds, Russian Pointe, and Capezio when we got new shoes

The person that fit her is a very well known shoe fitter her mom also is a very well-known shoe fitter.

@@sage273 never tried Gaynors so I don't know, but I suppose one of the reasons could be that they're crazy expensive compared to any other brand lol

they are quite a bit more expensive, but last a long long time. i had my gaynors for about 8 months, so in the end they are cheaper than traditional shoes as they last longer.

U went to Josephine the point shop u did a good job am a ballerina dancing with point shoes so I recommend u go to Josephine she does the best fitting ever she also gives out tips if ur new to point shoes

Josephine Lee is The Pointe Shop owner. She has the four locations in Orange County, Oakland, San Francisco, and San Diego. Congratulations on getting your first pair of pointe shoes! My first pair of pointe shoes were Capezio too, the Pavlova model (available special orders only) back in the day. Enjoy your ballet and pointe shoe journey. Merde!
