My First Time Driving on a Wet Racetrack! [POV Track Day @ NJMP Thunderbolt]

Жыл бұрынThis is my first time driving at NJMP Thunderbolt! I've been here as a spectator before and done some sim work months ago but this is the first time I've actually driven the track. Near freezing temperatures and rain add to the challenge as I try to learn the track. (especially since I have never driven in the rain!)

Funny. I never did Lightning. I only did Thunderbolt. I think Thunderbolt is better suited for your car. It is a handling course while Lightning is a high speed course.

honestly think it's the opposite for me. there's too many long straights at thunderbolt for me to even get close to higher hp cars. at lightning it's a high speed course but at least you can carry lots of speed into the hill and lightbulb

Just wanted to see what thunder looked like in the rain. I haven’t had a wet track day with my e36 yet, only with my wrx. Seriously nervous, when I saw you had a video I had to check it out. Excellent driving, super controlled and safe. What tires did you run in the wet? I’m on kumho v730’s for the dry but I have some falken 510’s for the street/wet.

thanks! was def driving safe that day it's pretty sketchy lol. at the time I was on firestone indy 500. I heard the kumhos are notorious for their poor performance in the wet I'd def try the falkens

welcome back. I haven't really tried to push the car in the rain yet. I just try to drive close to the limit of grip in the corners but I take it easy on the top end speed and I increase my braking zones by 2x.

understandable. I pretty much did the same I was braking super early. I think I was nearly 40 seconds off my times in the dry

@@dadhats thanks for the fed back, I can send a few samples to track site you may visit, address to Eric dad hats , I will post more video on the prototype, still a few improvements to make , but I am pretty sure it will help with track video😁

@@dadhats maybe some track that you often go to and they know you, I will give the track management or office some for free as businesses promotion samples and specify one of them for you ask them to hold it for you , maybe they will nice to help me out and keep it until you visit that track someday. That is my plan , I will also send free samples to other tracks in my area as well , I am in UT area

Nice man! I was there running my GR86 6AT for its first HPDE with Mass Tuning as well! Had no idea you was there😅 It was def sketch in the morning. The last 2 sessions were much better conditions 😁
