Live they REALLY show off, they are WAY better live, it´s the best live band i know... Masters at their instruments, the singer has a great voice and charisma, they always do something special in their live performances, a little solo here, an outro for this song or an intro for that one. They are really hard workers and extreme talented... Writing their songs on their own, not casted like most asian bands and they just smashing it! Onset (live) for an showcase on their instruments, Domination (live), Choose me (live), because these songs have subtitles on their official channel. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single BAND-MAID song. Bon Voyage! 5:00 an Oni is the Japanese version of an ogre or demon. I think they are referencing a kids game where one person is blind folded (the oni) and everyone else claps to draw their attention without being caught. Kinda like the game "Marco Polo". I'm an oldie born in the fifties, grew up with the British Invasion, the seventies and eighties. After the Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, these young women are my favorite. They have brought hard rock back to life.

Hell yes, you have to check them out live. Amazing live tracks, in no particular order are Domination,Real Existence,Play, Freedom, Puzzle, or their phenomenal instrumenta,l Onset. Live Band Maid is another rabbit hole all together.

Great reaction and yes, they are, if anything, better live. At this point you are just scratching the surface of what this band is about. Complex melodies, superb musicians, excellent lyrics and super tight live. They started out as a live band, touring all the small clubs, earning their dues. They released a lot of live videos from their last live concert back on Feb. 14th 2020 and any of those are a good example of what they are live - check their YT channel and pick one at random. This song is the first from their new album, Unseen World and there are now two more, Manners and After Life and probably one more next Tuesday.

Band-Maid is a genre hopping band that pulls in elements from Blues all the way to Metal. They are also perhaps one of the best damn live bands on the planet. You can find a good half dozen + live songs on the KZfaq page. They're a hardrock band at their core, however, if you'd like to see a good sprectrum i'll leave suggestions. Manners - Off their new album released last week. Classic old school rock sound with a good bluesy guitar riff throughout. Rinne - One of their most metal infused songs, if you watch it watch the music video as the only live performance on KZfaq is one taken from a tv show where the song is cut in half. Daydreaming - Rock ballad. My personal favorite song from them. Real Existence - Hard Rock vibe, a quintessential hard hitting Band-Maid tune. Both the MV and Live versions are excellent. Secret Maiko Lips - On April Fools Day Band-Maid said they were changing their image up. They released a different version of their song "Secret My Lips" in which they all dressed up as Geisha and the song is an amazing retelling of their original with classic Japanese instrumentation added in. You can find the song on their KZfaq page, but it was also released under their alternate name "Band-Maiko".

Welcome to the world of Band-Maid. You just been introduced to the very talented ladies from Japan. They're a hard rocking band with some elements of metal. Their sound is reminiscent of 80s/90s rock sound. Great guitar riffs, insane drumming, amazing bass line, and catchy chorus. Nothing against other great Japanese rock bands such as Lovebites, Unlucky Morpheus, Aldious. Mary's Blood, and the rest, but Band-Maid is in the league of their own. Their song and music composition is just on another level. They really know how to write songs. They just keep producing and releasing hits after hits. This obviously include their latest release "Unseen World" album. You mentioned you want to see them live. I think you will be blown away by their live performances. They are phenomenal. I suggest checking out "Domination", "Freedom", "Play" and "onset" all live versions. If you enjoyed this song, I don't think you will be disappointed with anything in their Discography. There are a lot of maid themed cafes/restaurants in Japan with the counterpart being Butler Cafes. This subculture was popularised by the massive Anime industry there. BM fuses that modest feminine look with aggressive Hard Rock music, which they call the “Gap” mostly as a statement that they don’t need to conform to societal standards to be successful. Regardless of their image, they can rock as hard as anyone else. And their impressive catalogue of around 100 quality Rock songs in just 7 years is enough proof of that. Oh my yes, you do definitely need to check them out live ... But first I would suggest you do a couple of their more recent MVs, then when you get a full taste of what they can do in the studio and you start to think it can't get much better than that, only then should you go see what Band-Maid is REALLY all about ie. The live!!!

Miku, the rhythm guitarist and backup vocalist, who also writes their lyrics, often incorporates English sentences in their mainly Japanese songs. It's seen as "cool" if you know how to speak English properly in Japan and can gain you a lot of respect. I think it was Miku who said that she incorporates English because it also sounds better than Japanese for certain parts of songs, but I'm not really sure I got that quote exactly right.

Great reaction bro ! I feel like you are the type of dude that likes more metal than rock so i would recommend the songs Black Hole, Different or Rinne. More kinda prog songs: Giovanni, HGK, No God, Puzzle, Yolo. Also if there is a live performance in their channel go for it instead of MV/studio.

Domination, freedom, from 2/14/20 are their most popular live performances, but I love "Onset". They just keep getting better and better!

My favorite band for a while now

They have a devoted fanbase that will tell you BAND-MAID are the best rock band in the world. Don't take the fanbase's word for it. Put them to the test. BAND-MAID's YT channel has loads of examples for you to take a look at. The only video I'd warn you off, and not because of the performance, is the live version of Rinne (Reincarnation). I only say avoid that one because it's a shortened version of the song for a small tv time slot and is missing a verse and chorus. They have a music video for Rinne that is the full song. Get stuck in. You won't regret it.

Anything live is a good next step if you want more band-maid.

They are better live. Check out all the live songs on their channel. They are all crazy good.

Most of their songs have a sort of dust yourself off and have another go type of theme. Before this latest album was released they already had over 90 songs. They are incredible live. MOST bands can't produce music in the studio as well as BAND MAID can and does on the stage and or in front of a live audience. Please don't compare them to Lovebites or in fact anyone.

Japan is interesting. Not the most enlightened place about gender roles yet they have all these all-female rock/metal/punk bands of extraordinary skill. My two favorites are Band-Maid and Lovebites but I like Nemophila, Aldious, Doll$Boxx, Trident, Hagane, and many others. And they tend to be really tight live bands.

Babymetal is an experience to be sure, but they are extremely experimental and their last album Metal Galaxy was mostly a dud after the initial swarm to buy day 1 ended. Love Bites is also a good band, but on sheer talent can't hold a candle to Band Maid who have yet to have a dud album. And when it comes to live performances? Nobody does it better than Band Maid. You'd think you were listening to a studio track because they are one of the real talented bands that sounds the same live as in the studio. So few are that talented - The Corrs, The Pretty Reckless are only two I can even think of right now.
