Their debut song is called Mama and is like a Gregorian Chant. One of my favorites is Miracles in Christmas and Tempo. A good sample selection can be found from one of their live concerts where they did an acoustical medley. EXO(엑소)- Acoustic Session + Lady Luck +(시선둘,시선하나)What If.. This is a multi talented group of young men. Looking forward to your reaction. I actually am waiting for your review, the first time I have ever choose that notification.

You just found treasure. EXO are unmatchable in vocals, lives and versatile discography. They are the vocal kings in the industry as they all can really sing, and their vocal trinity - Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. - are super well-known and appreciated by critics. The more you listen to them the more you’ll love them. In addition to that, the solos of the members are super good. For a first taste react to Baekhyun’s ‘All I Got” a one of a kind R&B in the industry and you will be hooked. Enjoy the ride.

@PeterBarber AHHH!!! A NEW REACTOR TO EXO!! I am 73 and discovered 3rd generation EXO accidentally, after watching DOH(DO) KYUNGSOO'S K-Drama, 100 Days My Prince. He is known for his adlibs and runs and downright smooth voice & can belt but rare moments. If you KZfaq EXO'S concert: DROP THAT, RUN, LET OUT THE BEAST, etc. where main rapper (low voice) PARK CHANYEOL starts playing a powerful electric guitar solo against red light bathing him. He is super talente in various instruments plus DJ's in this segment of HIGH-ENERGY EXO ICONIC SONGS. They debuted in 2012 w/a new concept, 12 members: Chinese and Korean awesome singers/dancers. LUHAN, ZTAO (martial arts/sword) & Kris left (reasons for leaving) In the limited time I've been aware of EXO, all songs are loved, their harmonizations amazing, vocals are strong: ALL sing amazingly and together, a powerhouse. Check out Chen and Baekhyun in IMMORTAL SONGS (KZfaq)--especially, "I DIDN'T KNOW" (?) an old Korean historical song that sears the soul, my heart cries whenever I hear it- it begins slow then the emotion hits hard. Also, check out CHEN (JONGDAE): MASKED SINGER SHOW: DRUNKEN TRUTH and STAINED. If you KZfaq their debut song, MAMA, (by both EXO-K AND EXO-M), listen to the initial story, MAMA also shows each members' powers in fighting against the Red Force. I read...that their album releases coincide closely to solar eclipses that have a big significance in the storyline. When you watch the MV'S to their very first album, you'll get a visual worth discovering!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤ enjoy!!

Exo is called THE VOCAL KINGS AKA EMPEROR OF KPOP. There's currently 9 members in the group and each are super talented at singing, dancing and all can even low key rap. They're aldo actors and musical actors. The 3 main vocalists of EXO are actually the best top 3 male vocalists in K-pop. The first one to hit the high note in the first chorus is CHEN who's no 1 singer of K-pop industry followed by D.O. and Baekhyun. You've hit the jackpot tbh. There are officially 9 members but Lay is actually a solo artist in China. Because of political reasons he only occasionally performs with the group. Right now Kai is in the military. They only have one member that still needs to serve. Sehun is the youngest member so after he serves the group will be entirely back together again.

Fun fact: EXO holds the fastest sold out record by selling out concert tickets in 0.2 second. Their previous record was 0.4s and 1.47s. yes they're legends. EXO has a story of being ALIENS from EXO PLANET and they have super powers. Their all Mvs connect the story. Recent SOLAR ECLIPSE was related to that as well, it was their debut date and the whole thing was pre-planned way before their debut in 2012. EXO releases most of their songs, teasers on the day solar eclipse. EXO is the first group to introduce Storyline, Bluetooth lightstick and many other things in K-pop. Really apprciate ypur breakdown, thank you for the technicals! Theres all 6 vocalists that hit that head voice falsetto, if you watch the cream soda recording booth behind the scenes is very interesting to see how they record. The other two with lower voices are the rappers but great singers as well. EXO discography is absolute gold. I was never into kpop because all the popular groups my friends liked were just not that memorable to me. Then I found Exo. They got REAL VOCALS, RNB, SOUL, FUNK, you name it, but still distinctly EXO. They are quintessentially kpop but way beyond kpop. It is timeless great music. They are also the very few that do proper ballad songs. Simply stunning.

As a side note there are very few bass singers in kpop. Chaneol is EXO's lowest vocalist and I think he is a Baritone maybe. He is also a talented rapper. You will note the singers will appear in and out of their videos through the years as they are pulled out to serve their mandatory military commitments. Kai is not in the Cream Soda video but did make the recording before his enlistment date. Have fun falling into the KPOP rabbit hole of talent.

Definitely Killing Voice! They started with 12: four Chinese and eight Koreans. Three of the Chinese members left for varying reasons. The one left is Lay, who was only able to perform with the group occasionally because of the Chinese government. Then military duty started taking one to two members each year. Sometimes the group only had six. There are two doing military now, so it’s a group of six. In Cream Soda, only one was in the military. The Chinese member’s contract ended with SM Entertainment, but he still considers himself as a member of EXO. These are the Vocal Kings of Kpop. Several have also ended their contracts with SM. A couple have formed their own companies. One company has three. But they all come together for their EXO performances. I’m so thrilled you covered EXO. They and Dimash are my two top entertainers. I’d love to see you do Killing Voice with EXO. It shows off more of their individual talents. There are also at least two acoustical performances, with two of the group playing guitar. The two main rappers have the low tones you mentioned. The dancer, who is in military probably has the next lowest tone. The other five have a wonderful range of tones. The one you “clocked” so high is Chen, one of the most recognized in the industry for his vocals. I will be waiting for more EXO on your channel. BTW, Dimash is having a concert in Budapest right now. I’d love to hear your thoughts on his performance in When I’ve Got You, one of his newest. It’s different. He keeps surprising us. 😅 I’ll have to check if you’ve done Lara Fabian. She is fantastic. And has done some duets with Dimash. Killing Voice for sure. 😊

exo having 9 members is like a medium sized group in kpop. 2-6 members are small sized groups. 7-9 are medium sized 10-15 are large sized groups 15-20+ are XTRA LARGE sized. as an example kpop girl group TripleS has 24 members while Exo’s “younger brother”group (same company but debuted 4 years later after exo) NCT has 26 members (6 sub units with different music styles and concepts per subunit with some subunits having permanent members and other subunits mix and match a set of members that suit a album best per comeback)

I’m pretty new to EXO too and I would agree with everyone suggesting their Killing Voice performance. But if you want specific tracks, I would suggest checking out Call Me Baby, Monster, Obsession, Growl, Tempo, Hear Me Out and Love Me Right to get their full range of styles/ genres. they have a very wide range, and that’s before each member’s solo style. There is also an amazing behind the scenes for this track if you’re interested in seeing each member record their vocals. It all looks so effortless but I’m sure it not!!

Exo is one of my favorites, and I’m so excited that you’ve found them! I agree with everyone who’s suggested Killing Voice for your next Exo listen. You’ll miss out with n Lay and Kai, but you’ll get a good feel for everyone else’s voice and style and you’ll hear a really good sample of their music. You really can’t go wrong, though. Some of my favorites are Obsession, Monster, Tempo, Love Shot, Ko Ko Bop, and Call Me Baby.

There’s only 9 members. One isn’t active as much and the last comeback he did with them was in 2018, but he does have his own solo career. His name is Lay (Yixing) and he’s the only Chinese member. The other 8 are currently active members but 2/8 are doing their mandatory Korean military service and will be back soon. There were 12 of them at one point 😅

Exo are called the vocal kings and emperors of kpop. They have the most diverse discography bcz they have done so many genres and are well known for fusions of different genres. Their music videos are always insane. With new concepts every comeback. Even youtube Music tweeted about their concept as always 100/10. You will find Amazing vocalists in exo, shinee, super junior and tvxq. They are all under SM entertainment company which is known for powerful vocalists. Fusions of genres, complex Music videos and concepts. And exo is the Elite group. Plz react to their songs growl, obsession, monster, kokobop, let me in,. You will see they have complex productions and even rappers bring specific style with the vibe of the song not just usual fast flow aggressive rap. If you want to see their vocal abilities then a recent album is the best choice. 7th album exist. They are well known for harmonies adlibs and layerings. Also live shows are fire bcz of strong stage presence. Would suggest you to checkout mama+monster+wolf. Also eldorado live from japan.

I'm an Exo fan but hearing someone that really knows music and production in a technical manner is just fascinating lol...makes me appreciate the music that much more..Hopefully you'll check out more of their songs! No hay otro grupo como EXO en todo el Kpop, son 9 miembros y todos ellos son artistas completos, son llamados los Emperadores de Kpop. I had to laugh at your comment about 7 members being a large group. SM has another group that is technically around 22 members. They only perform in their entirety once or twice a year. NCT They have 4 permanent subgroups NCT 127, NCT Dream, Wayv and Wish. Then they have a group that has interchangeable members, NCT U, to work with whichever song they are performing that could have as little as two members or as many as 11 or so. Another large group that usually performs together is Seventeen. They have 13 members. What is unusual about them is that from the beginning 90 percent of the songs are written, produced and choreographed by the members themselves, Most agencies do not give the artists that latitude until later in their career. The most popular girl group in the USA is probably Blackpink, who are very good and hugely visibly pleasing to watch. However, I think the best vocal girl group is Mamamoo, who unfortunately disbanded this year to do solo work. They do have a huge discography to enjoy Most all of these group have a Killing Voice episode in which they sing snippets of their songs without choreography which can give you a taste of their work. I also like to watch their live performances or performance videos when they are offered as they are less distracting that the official mvs. Dance Practices are fun too. As you can probably tell, to the embarrassment of my adult children, I am a huge KPOP fan, and at 68 probably one of their oldest. LOL
