George Michael wrote & produced 'Last Christmas'. The song was recorded in August 1984 & released December 3rd that same year. I was 24 then!! 😮‍💨. Such a very long time ago. This song has alwas been very special to me, particulary because I adore George, his fabulous voice & ofcourse his looks are just incredible!! RIP George 💝💝💝

Its amazing that you havent heard this song once during christmas time. This song has been one of the classics of christmas songs that gets played especially during christmas time on various radio stations and in stores. Though not sure this song is about happiness:). Its more about mourning for love that didnt last.

George Michael started his career with Wham and wrote some great songs .. This one gets played every year . Its been around since the mid 80s . Of course GEORGE went on to his solo career afterwaerds and wrote some great songs and collaberated with great singers like Elton John amd Aretha Franklyn .You should check his solo songs some time .

Just before Wham made it,my friend went to his Girlfriend's CBS Record Companies Xmas Party where a couple of young lade that they had just signed provided the entertainment.It was Wham:)

The irony of the destiny! George Michael wrote Last Christmas 🎄 and he passed away on Christmas Day on 2016. And three years later his sister passed also away on Christmas Day on 2019. Thank you George for your music 🎶 heritage. RIP 🙏☺️

George and Andrew knew each other from school, and the two female backing singers Pepsi and Shirley knew each other as well, Shirley went onto marry Martin Kemp from another group from the 80's Pepsi I think has gone to live abroad, Andrew went into another industry too do with cars and I think still has a hand in recording with other artists, George left his money to charity and family, and just like Freddie he also sends friends Christmas presents, he gave quite a lot too charity during his lifetime, but on the condition no one told anyone who gave them the money. George passed away on Christmas day and so did his sister a few years later, and again he lived in a small village as well as having a London house, but he passed in the one in Streatley /Goring as the two villages boarder each other quite literally from crossing a bridge,

George Michael went on to a solo career. He did a sang Someone to Love at Freddie Mercury's tribute. It was the best and very touching . He just found out his partner was HIV positive .

I mean, it got me on my nerves in my childhood, they played that thing 10-15 times a day in the time before, at or after Christmas in Austria and Germany. Same with Mariah Careys "All I want for Christmas". But no doubt, this is the biggest Christmas song we have and George is one of the GOATS. If you get older you don't care about those repeats that hard anymore like you used to.

How can you not know who Wham is? This song has been covered 2009 times. It should be illegal to cover it. George wrote this song, produced it, and sang lead. It's perfect. The video is kinda lousy except Kathy Hill who is perfect, but the song is perfect.
