What fuel efficiency did you get with the CVT ? Doesn't the CVT pose problem while overtaking at high speeds on the highways due to power lag ?

Awesome and congratulations!!!How you managed engine engine braking using the CVT? Did you use the tiptronic mode and manual shifters ? Or just used only brakes for downhill ?

Does cvt works well downhill? Will not it upshift and increased speed?

Cvt does not work well in downhill. It will do upshift which is expected behaviour. Better use a sports manual mode to do engine breaking if you can't handle cvt on downhill

Thanks for your comment. Like you we were also manual transmission drivers but we took a risk for upgradation to CVT and it paid off.

AMT is just a jugaad. It isn’t an automatic in real sense. Don’t get fooled- go for CVT, Torque converter or DCT. I prefer CVT

I drove the Honda City on a hilly terrain. Overall, the pick-up is amazing and the drive is awesome. The only drawback is the body skirt is a bit low and is prone to damages.

If the streets are flooded in rainy season will the car be damaged being cvt automatic ? The ground clearance is low and u cant revv the engine in low gears ..... please throw some light on this topic

We have done proper off-roading in heavy river stream full of pebbles and stones. Do give it a watch, Ladakh series will clear all your doubts about Honda City CVT... In addition, Honda City CVT has gears in sports mode.

And what's it like costing on downhill ? We have a downhill that's almost 20-25kms. All i do is switch to 3rd gear & let the car go, with minimal use of breaks. Want to know, how CVT will handle this downhills ?

Thanks for this. I have amaze cvt with pedal shifter. I have never taken it to hills. And seems hill assist is not there in amaze. How you will keep car rolling on hills during short breaks and bumper to bumper. I am afraid that it will come back

Does the car come back on flyovers where traffic jam is there. Even if it comes don't need to panic i will tell you a technique which you can use on hills or any incline with ease

@@TheGuidingGears i tried on flyovers and observed that car comes back if I remove my foot from brake and race both. Never tried sports mode though

@@aggarwalsaurabh There are multiple techniques but the easiest one is proper use of handbrake. Let me know if you want us to make a video on all the techniques. In our car we can't do but then we will need to use some manual car to demonstrate that

@@aggarwalsaurabh What do you do when you pickup on flyovers from standstill. You pull your hand brake pumpup race a bit . so much that your car is just lunging forward and let handbrakes go. The same technique is used by casual hill drivers.

We go with a funda that if it can't be done we will push the car going outside. But City never disappointed us and did not let us go out for pushing

@@akshatgautam1530 We feel that is more of gimmick . You will come to know that your car needs service while driving itself. Engine smoothness reduces and extra revving is required

Amaze have smaller engine than honda city. You may face some difficulty with amaze cvt.

Every car has some or the other good thing. What matters is the driver and his skills. We have seen even the best cars could not make it to hills or collapsed on the hill rides.

Gaadi neutral nahi hoti hai. Drive mode Mein hee hain unless you change the gear manually

Mene abhi Honda City Lee hai CVT..gaadi chalaane mai bohat aasani hoti hai..bas pickup ekdum se nahi hota...kya ye normal hai

Yes it is normal. pickup de sakte ho but that is not recommended. Waise bhi race thode lagani hai . It will drink petrol if you accelerate faster

Yes cvts are for relaxed drives. And yes the pickup is slow as it has rubber band effect. If u want performance go for manual. Other cvts are good for city drives

CVT is Continuous variable transmission. Yeh bahut smooth hoti hai koi jhatka nahi maarti.

Risk toh nahi hai but it depends on how you are braking and road conditions. Always drive according to road and your tyre conditions.
