New Hampshire. One of my favorite places I have never been. Don't ask me how I know, I just know. The rainbow you saw around the Sun is called a 'Sundog'. It is not unusual to see these in the mountains when the ice crystals are being blown around in the wind.

I’m so glad you were able to visit my state of New Hampshire. I live in southern New Hampshire near the Massachusetts border. We are close to the ocean, the mountains and Boston. There are many people in New Hampshire with French-Canadian ancestry. My Mothers family are from the Canadian province of Quebec. My Fathers family have been in Massachusetts and New Hampshire since the 1630s during the Great Puritan Migration. You should come back in the Fall to see the New England Fall Foliage. Vermont and Maine are also fantastic states to visit in the fall.

Thank you for visiting New Hampshire, my new home. I grew up in New Mexico and California, and for most of my adult years, I lived in the Boston area. But now, for the last five years, New Hampshire has been home, and I'm glad of it. Our state nickname is the "Granite State" and our state motto is "Live Free or Die" which both tell you a lot about the kind of people we have here - solid and freedom-loving. We hope you come back. By, the way, there are sections of New Hampshire where French is spoken because of the French-speaking people coming from parts of Canada, It's a great place!

So excited to see you here in my beautiful home state of NH--you drove right through my hometown of Concord. Best thing about New England in general is the very distinct seasons. Fall is my absolute favorite--some time you should check out NH in October, it is GORGEOUS. But there is something to love in each season. Skating, skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter--then curling up by the fire with mug of coffee, a good book and my dog, spending the day at the beach or the lake,or hiking in the mountains in spring and summer, and then the fall brings apple picking, hay rides, state fairs, bonfires and halloween. I also loved your Boston videos as Boston is one of my absolute favorite cities. Quebec City is another of my faves.

As a resident of New Hampshire from the early 70's to the mid 80's, my high school and college years, I loved every minute I spent there. It was nice to see the old stomping grounds, I specifically remember going to the U.S. Ski Jumping Championships at Gunstock in 1977. It was a cold beautiful day, like the one you experienced, and still brings a smile to my face when I think about it. "Live Free Or Die". A truly gung ho attitude, and the state motto.

It's great that you're traveling to so many parts and seeing how different everywhere is. Most tourists just go to New York City and think they've seen the Northeast, but traveling around New England is what the Northeast really is. You can be in a major city like Boston and 30 minutes later be in the woods and mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont, or go 20 minutes south of Boston and be in the beautiful seaside communities and beaches of Cape Cod.

We vacationed in New Hampshire years ago, and had a great time there. We took the Cog Rail all the way to to the top of Mt Washington, but we could only stay up there about an hour or so, as the train started back down. The miners had sleds to slide back down the rails at the end of the day.

High altitude ice crystals can create a rainbow like you see around the 9:00 mark. They are less common at mid-latitudes, but once you are far enough north the low sun angle can create them!

Kansas Grandpa checking in. New Hampshire was my home for 26 years. Watching your video was like going home. I left there in 08' and when I win a lottery or get one of my books on the best seller list I may move back there. All of those places are very familiar to me. Thank you Marie.... If you need a good book to read, I have a new one coming out on Amazon in about a month. 'When All The Pieces Come Together' It is an adventure involving Caucasian and Native American neighbors in a very rural setting. It takes place in Norther Wisconsin with the Chippewa and a man named Stedman Doss. Next year's book takes place in New Hampshire 300 years ago. It will be called 'The Rumford Diaries'. Well, Marie. Enjoy your time here. Wishing for you All Good Things. Your Kansas Grandpa.

I love when people mention Mt. ANYTHING because the neighborhood I grew up in was called Wilke Heights (named after the developer) and every single street was named after a mountain. I grew up on Alps Road, my very best friend for 35 years grew up on Mt. Everest Drive, my husband grew up on Mt. Holyoke, and my grandparents lived on Mt. Marcy. He also developed the neighborhood across from our several years later, and named it Heavenly Heights. My brother lives on Galaxy Drive, my husbands best friend lives on Twinkle Avenue, my aunt lives on Venus Land, and my cousin lives on Uranus Drive lol. Such fun street names!!!

Hey Choo Choo Marie 😊 🚂 🦌 A Rolling & Beautiful change of scenery , sturdy 🥾 are what's called for. A colorful steam locomotive chugging along feels exhilarating like your a kid again. " You might as well build a railway to the moon" Sylvester Marsh was told over 150 years ago , it's still thriving & worth every moment of it. Looks pretty steep ( second after Pilatus in Switzerland) how about Jacob ladder that's the most thrilling , the oldest ones must use a ton of coal & gallons of water to reach the top. The sky blue views of the peaks were Amazing & you didn't have to give up any creature comforts , yummy 🍡 🔥 treats , they also make a delicious clam chowder. There's a great observatory for learning more about the weather including a live cam. I wouldn't mind staying at the alpen glow lodge even know it's a bit pricey. I'm glad you got to be near the tip top of New England . The Omni Resort charming it stands out with its spanish renaissance style elegantly furnished where can i get one of those rugs 🐿️. I really liked how you can walk around the balcony taking in the whole landscape along with a round of 🏌️ golf too , back in 2019 everybody was surprised when a 🐻 showed up. Like all old hotels there's something ghostly going on like the princess / 314 room , what a scoop if you caught it on camera like your a Ghostbuster. Maybe you about the cogg railway documentary they show there , you can watch the preview here on KZfaq, the rest might be online. They also have a fancy gold room which is appropriate since it's where the bankers established the monetary fund. I don't know if you noticed any romantic couples , it's a popular place for having weddings. The ⛷️ resort looked packed out & a lot of fun , makes a change from being snow blind by the sun , it's a different vibe , how come you didn't 🛷 downhill , probably would've have been risky if you broke the camera , you've done it before anyway , It would be cool having a personalised snowboard. It's been wonderful seeing you so radiant & happy exploring more of America the promised land that keeps on giving. Don't ever lose that feeling now your back home again. Check out Robert Frost Poems on NH. Thanks Marie Take care & have a blessed Sunday 💛🌺✌️

Washington Hotel from 1991-1994, before it was open year round and was only open from May to October. I am so glad you got to see what I consider "real" New Hampshire. Coldest I've ever been was when I flew in from Torrejon Spain to Pease AFB there in New Hampshire. The night before I landed, they had an ice storm come in and leave a layer of ice everywhere. Needless to say I was not prepared for that level of cold. It had been raining when I left Spain, so all I had was my plastic Air Force issue raincoat. The plastic froze solid and didn't move.

I have been watching you for a few months. You got into my recommendations at a transition time in my life and viewing. I found your videos as interesting as I had a German GF come visit for 3 weeks and her ideas on the US and what she experienced were different. She would have made videos just like this. I have no problem at all with your accent. I used to be on the phone internationally 3 to 4 hours a day for years. One thing I noticed is that your getting more comfortable in English, but being in the States and having to use it all day long will help that. 40 years ago in my office French was spoken all day long among 3 of the guys. I spoke little when I started, but after a few years was able to understand almost all what they were saying because a lot of the root words are similar in English, Spanish and German. I never paid attention to your lovely long hair. I am jealous, I don't have any, I am bald.

There's no what I would drive up Mt. Wash. By foot, my favorite, or by Cog. Those are the ONLY two ways to see Mt. Wash.

The NorthEasten States are very pretty and still Wooded and Wild. What your looking at is very much like the Native Indians would have experienced and seen hundreds upon hundreds of years ago.

Wow you just managed to make me homesick I was born and raised in Lincoln NH. In my teens my Dad worked at the Mt. Washington hotel spent many weekends there ( it's haunted you know) . In my late 20's I worked at Gunstock. I currently live in Connecticut and I hate it. Worst state ever don't visit. Thanks for this video I will call my Mom today cause she is still there and you made me miss her too.

Funny, I was born in Connecticut and very glad my parents moved to NH when I was 5. My mother was born in NH and we moved to Whitefield, where my mother was born.

You should try to make a visit to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor in Maine. Absolutely beautiful scenery.

Looks like you had a good day in my home state. If you had gone today, you would have had to deal with a foot of snow falling. 😊 Glad to see you enjoyed it Marie, but you really need to come again when the fall foliage is at its peak. It is absolutely gorgeous then.

Nice! New Hampshire, and Vermont, are really nice, amazing places. I was up in Vermont for vacation this summer and drove to and then up Mt Washington on the Auto Road. If you ever get a chance and are there again, hopefully you can go to the top and see where the highest winds on earth were recorded.

That region got 30 plus cm of snow today. Omni Mt. Washington and Gunstock is vintage NH. I know you are long departed from this area but I hope you got to the seacoast, Portsmouth is a culinary gem and there is the nearby Wentworth by the Sea, older than the Omni place.

I have been on the cog too, what a great trip and windy at the top, this in summer. Our train had the old coal fired steam locomotive.

The steam train is where it's at. I understand the reason for the diesels but I still love the steam. I bet it's a lot easier to get a diesel engine up and running when Fish and Game need it for a rescue.

Marie, I'm surprised that with all of your travels, this is the very first time you've ever seen a Sun Dog! That rainbow when it's not raining is what that was. They can be rainbows, they can just be yellow, or they can even be red. Look up the term "Sun Dog" on your phone and you'll see tons of pictures of them. They always form 90 degrees from the Sun. Using a clock as a reference, they form at 9, 12, and 3. I'm glad you got to see Mt. Washington, even if you only got to go up halfway. It the beginning or the end of the Appalachian Trail that hikers will hike from down in Georgia all the way to the top of that mountain. You were lucky to be there on a blue sky day! I did laugh a little bit at your karma comment and you slipping! You should have at least gone down that slope once on a tube. If the kids can do it, so can you! The resorts of that area are really nice and have been used in movies. I hope the rest of your adventure goes well, and as always, keep smiling!
