I leave Serato for a moment to test out Pioneer DJ's XDJ-RX3 on Rekordbox for my first time. I go over it's key features while playing a mix of House, Bass, Live Mashups and Remixes.

Great Vid and Showcase 👍 Rekordbox is a very interesting DJ software, coming from all records and milk crates of records, torn tendons and all lol to final scratch, Serato, Traktor, Rekordbox and now Denon. The one thing I do enjoy about Pioneer XDJ series gear is the fact of recording direct to a usb stick then accessing that usb recording and placing it back in the mix on the fly, EXCELLENT FOR THOSE MOMENTS WHEN YOU HAVE SOMEONE ON THE MIC AND DROPPING THEM BACK IN THE MIX ! Chopping up like a chef on the Food Network. The XDJ SERIES mainly the XDJ XZ and the RX 3 you will not go wrong the only gripe I have is there is no WFI for streaming ( as of yet, hint hint hint Pioneer R&D ) but with a solid collection and skills anything is possible, that touchscreen is the TRUTH !!! I did have the Prime 4 but a lot of technical issues with that unit. Just awaiting the backoreder list to open up so I can get may hands on this unit. Great to see someone with the SOLID SKILLS of DJ Jordan Lee showing how to mix on this unit. Added to my playlist, yes indeed 😎

Dope as hell mixing, as to be expected from you at this point; amazing video quality, and genuinely fantastic editing. This edit took you hours. Huge respect for the time you put into this. It deserves an enormous amount of views.

Dou find you have to turn the input trims up top up a lot when running via laptop and recording to another USB? vs when you record off of running a USB drive in spot #1 and using those tracks?

Is there a way to create that same beat loop you did at the beginning but in Serato? When I try to add a 1 beat loop, it feels like it's missing part of the word, almost as if it's on an off beat.

Just bought mine..one question for all..on the xdj xz, plugging the usb to the laptop, i can see the playlists and all the rekordbox library on the controller even load the songs directly from the pc. How can i do it on the rx3??

1. They can display track artwork, so surely that's possible. 2. I'm not completely sure, maybe the gains have more headroom? 3. I've used Serato so long that every other DJ app feels foreign. I would need a lot more time to feel comfortable with Rekordbox. Back to Serato for me. 4. Didn't do too much scratching, but felt similar to scratching with CDJs and a DJM.

I'm playing a set this coming week that I will need to use the XDJ-RX3. I toyed around a bit last week to get comfortable with the controls. One thing I couldn't figure out is "When I load my tracks onto the channel from my Rekordbox usb, the tracks keep auto playing". I would like to be able to just load them and jump to the cue loops but not auto play. Any clue to what Im doing wrong? Thanks!

Hi Bro. I hope you can help. I have an RX3 and have recorded 3 mixes. I can play all three on the hardware itself in the recordings folder but when I look at the USB files on my MAC/Phone etc. The folder is empty. Why is this?

So many little differences that I find it hard to get use to. I’ll keep using Serato and only use Rekordbox when needed. I still find Serato to be the most intuitive and well laid out software. If you don’t come from a heavy Serato background you’ll probably get use to it way easier.

I think RB really made a killing selling the 400 and not having to pay for an RB upgrade, Serato really missed out on this with their entry level gear only having lite, and having to pay for upgrade software.. with that said..especially since Covid when everyone and their brother and sister bought DJ gear for their bedrooms 🧐 I been rocking Serato since Scratch Live, Ride or Die 😎😎🎤🔊🔊🔈

@@DJJordanLee i found this with rekordbox some stuff is better like pad fx and the fx in general i find better than serato also the whole cue play and realised if i turned off quantize i can postion the track better to add cue points but like u im still keeping serato its good to be able to jump between different software if needed

I'm not aware of what FX the DDJ-400 can activate so sadly I don't know the answer to that. Have never used a 400.

@@DJJordanLee , DDJ-400 is a very capable controller for the money. Rekordbox and Djay Pro supported, unfortunately not Serato.

It's maybe the best controller if you're wanting a stand alone unit - use USBs or use a laptop. Personally the Rev-7 excites me more :)
