Is that how tanks are supposed to play it? I hate going to HoA as an alt tank because of those damn bears. As war/pally I just ravager, revenge then leap away or as pally I shield, divine toll then charger away. Should I just grab as much fast threat as I can then run when I start to hurt or am I screwing up somewhere?

@@tarisco614 I do think gear helps here: the more geared you are, the more abuse you can take before you need to run. That said, those bears REALLY hurt. Always always save your stuns for the houndmasters to ensure they don't enrage, because at higher keys enraged bears are basically a sure death if they can reach you. I know in some groups I've healed, the dps focused the bears down before the houndmasters and that worked out all right, too. Most tanks only run from bears if they enrage or they pull a very large group and they start to run out of cooldowns (or notice their healer is out of cooldowns). Personally as a monk healer I've never had trouble in HoA with tanks; if I see my tank start to run for their life, I throw out Ring of Peace and all is well with the world.

@@tarisco614 I hope it helps if only a little! I'm of the opinion they should just make Ring of Peace baseline for all monks, since it's probably a talent chosen very close to 100% of the time lmao.

@@fast_cats Oh good lord yes. I have a BM monk at like 213 that I'm playing around with and can't imagine not having it on any monk spec. It's reaaaaaally fun but I duck with the defensives so far so I just feel like a more tanky dps lol

yeah, a tank that relies on self heals as mitigation being negated by mechanics is toxic. i forgot Blood DK even existed. prob needs a DR talent just for that week. instead of healing.

As to opening urns in sanguine depths, I have blood-spattered scale as trinket, pop venthyr ability for aggro, then pop scale while opening. Safest way to open as blood dk imo

Ah I remember this week, I did it back when I was learning to tank and boy was it brutal as fuck, even as a paladin. I also remember doing the same thing with the bears and the loyal beasts buff. I thought surely if I use guardian kings then I won't die, boy was I in for a surprise XD. Very entertaining video to watch given pretty much all tanks when through this at some point XD.

yeah necrotic is a blood dk's worst nightmare since blood dk is so reliant on self healing to stay alive and doesnt really have a good way to lock down alot of mobs so they can get away to reset stacks as easy as other classes and very shoddy dmg reduction abilities unless its magic

@@sunchaser911 damn that's crazy. I started wow in SL as resto shaman, got ksm 1 and 2 then made a prot warrior/paladin and BM monk and feel so squishy in low keys. They're like 205 and die fastish in 5s, warrior is 239 and I feel uncomfortable in like 8s. I really need to L2P tank lol

@@tarisco614 205 should be fine for 5s and 239 should be more than fine for 15+. At the start of S2 I got my KSM on my VDH at 226-230... Just make sure you practice as much as you can, don't be afraid to use your cds and defensives. A big part of being a tank is knowing the dungeons and mobs. You will soon learn what hurts you badly and what not and you can play accordingly. Good luck! :)
