For anyone watching this, the curling should be done while hair is damp, use small sections and LET THE DRYER PICK UP THE HAIR at the tip then slowly bring in. Cool while still on, then TURN OFF BEFORE PULLING AWAY. Finally, for God's sake don't touch the curl. Despite this terrible use, it still looked ok so just imagine if done correctly. I have one and I think it's worth every penny.

Hi, I’m hairdresser and I use the dysons product. All of them to be exact. Yes you have to play with them to actually understand how it works. As for the curls, your hair have to be damp. So it drys and then once it drys you can cold shot it. It’s the best investment for me on my part. My mom got me the dyson blow dryer as my graduation present. And I LOVE IT! Yes I had to do some training to see how it works. Again for me as a hairdresser I have to play with the products to actually understand how it rolls.

Something that bugs me so much is that ppl seem to commonly have the urge to shake the curling tool around or pull it back and forth while curling. I know it's because they think of it as a hair dryer. But really, when you're using the curling attachment, the main objective is to mold your hair to the shape of the barrel as you would with any other curling iron. Would you shake a regular curling iron around or continuously wind and unwind your hair around it while trying to form a curl? I hope not. lol The best way to achieve a curl with heat is to mold the hair around the tool, whether it be a curling iron, a flat iron, round brush while blow drying, or even hot rollers. Then, allow the hair to set and cool in that shape without touching it. Of course you're not going to get good and/or uniform results if you're shaking your tool all over the place while it's heating/ molding the hair, then you start touching it or pulling on it right after curling. Also, the arrows on those curling barrels shows which direction your hair will wrap around it. In order to get a symmetrical style with the curls going in/out the same on both sides, you need to use opposing barrels on the opposing sides of your head.

uhhhhh, your hair has to be sort of wet when curling it, and after you hold it a while you have to switch to cool for it to set, then you have to turn it off before you take it off.

You are the 3rd influencer I have watched use the Airwrap without looking at the directions. The curling wands work better if your hair is damp. To create a beach wave you have to hold the ends of the section and manually wrap the hair as if you are using a wand. It would be awesome if you did another review after watching the Dyson directional videos.

I've watched several reviews about this product and it seems most people struggle with getting the technique down the first few times they've used it. I think because like you they were using it more as a traditional curling iron-- trying on dry hair and its like the tool is almost too powerful for that-- if your hair doesn't have any dampness or whatever to keep the sections together it blows the sections all over the place. Working with damp hair and in smaller sections I think you may get better results. My issue is that if thats how this tool works best which it seems like it does-- what about second or third day hair? People are not going to redampen their hair every time they want to freshen up their curls....
@anadari7528

For the airwrap, the correct way to use it is to use on a damp hair (not too wet cuz then the heat becomes hotter) and theres another button that u press to change it to cold which set the curls. And ur suppose to start from the tip of your hair and go up to the roots. Either way ur hair looks bouncy and lovely. Properly used would look even better. :D

Just broke down and bought this from QVC on 12 month easy pay, no interest, and amazingly it’s worth it.Very kind to hair and makes it feel like no other dryer. I used the round Conair brush for years, and recently the small round Revlon brush, which is too hot, and a disaster!

Definitely a great tool, very expensive but worth it!!! I have thick hair and spent time with the drying + flat iron on the highest setting (great for destroying hair) when going out, with this Dyson, not only the result is really really fast, my hair are straight, smooth , shiny (not unnatural like the flat iron) and the temperature is never burning my hair nor my hands !!! It’s just fabulous, I really love it 😊

This tutorial is wrong! You use Dyson Airwrap in the wrong way: hairs must be alway dump, both for the curly fold and for the smooth one. Next, when you do the curly fold with the curly tools, you have to switch off the Airwrap after every single bushing, otherwhise the airflow will demage the bushing you just made and it will also mess your hair. Also you have to play the cold air before turning off the Airwrap, in this way the bushing will takes shape.

Hello first timer to your channel. What drew me in was the Dyson's new product. Why was I drawn here. I am hands down one of Dyson's biggest fans for their blow dryer! OMG! Cuts my drying experience to 10 minutes insteand of 25. Heat was designed to be much less damaging! Worth every penny! Why? My hair is opposite of yours except for color. My hair is fine, course, kinky, curly, ball of mess....even my mother never knew how to tame my hair. I had to learn how to style on my own! That's the hell I went through! As a fifth grader my wild mane was sooooo awful I used to NOT wash my hair for up to two weeks so that my natural oils would straighten and smooth the rat's nest. I was the ugly duckling of my class. And don't even get me started about the horrible knots in the back of my head. Finally, FINALLY all of this is resolved because of today's technology. I am SO EXCITED for this new Dyson product to land at the foot of my doorstep. I hope you give it a few more go arounds with this. I would like to see if you still feel this way. Sorry this is so long! Thank you for the time it takes to do these videos and read stuff this long.

People, let's all take a step back. Most of you complaining that she did not use the tool properly, don't even own a Dyson Air Wrap. She was just testing the product out. Having fun with it. The barrels are supposed to work better on damp hair BUT, you can still style your hair with them on dry !!! It's important to always use the cool shot which she failed to do so, but I think that her hair came out ok. When straighteners came out, they were only used for straightening. Is this the case now? Hmm, NO!! they are used to create texture, waves, curls...etc. we can use hot tools anyway we want. That's the hole point of being creative!! If you want to see how this is used on damp hair, there are several videos available here on youtube😉. My comment is not here to offend anyone, let's just appreciate that she spent $500 on a tool to helps us decide if it's something we would invest on. I got mine recently in the UK for £399 and I love it. I bought the Smooth & Control kit as I have thick curly hair. I don't we will ever be able to get this tool at a discount😫

She did use it correctly... I guarantee that if you’re spending this much money on a product then you’re likely going to read the directions. Which she stated... if you want to see another review where this is more explained then I’d recommend watching Kathleen Lights’ tutorial.

I use a blow brush all the time. Instead of starting it at the root as you did, I roll the entire section onto the blow brush, starting at the ends and ending at the root. Then I hold it there a few seconds. I get a nice soft curl that way and often don't even need the curling iron, or just touch up with it.

By the end of the video the curls you did first were already falling out. I'm not convinced of this product. But I LOVE the idea of having a brush already attached to the blowdryer itself! The main reason why I don't take the time to properly style and blowdry my hair is that I have SO much LONG hair and getting volume is so much work, and my round brushes get tangled every.single.time. not matter how hard I try. And in the end (after at least an hour of tedious work) I'm only left with bleh results. Are there blow dryers with attached brushes you can recommend at a lower price point? (without all the curling attatchments maybe?)

I have the dyson hair dryer and I personally love it so now I’m interested in all things dyson. But I haven’t been blown away with the curl attachments and I know I’d never use them. I’d rather use a wand or curling iron. But the paddle and round brush look amazing. It would eliminate using a brush and I love that concept. I know they have other tools out there with a paddle/round brush wand from different brands. I’d be interested in what people thing about those compared to this.

YOu can add the same volume with a large barrel hair brush - metal centre. Wrap the hair around it, blow dry and leave on brush for a minute or so until cooled and gently remove the brush - move onto the next section. This is all hairdressers use. For smaller curls use the same type brush but with a narrower barrel.

I love mine. It easily adds twice the volume to my hair. Last night I used the round brush tool and after sleeping on it, it still looks really nice this morning. That said....I don't think it does anything that other tools can't. I purchased it because I've been living with no tools for the past 15 years (not even a hairdryer) and my teenage daughter and I have drastically different hair. (thick and curly for her, thin and straight for me.) So it's good that it meets both of our needs. In terms of being "blown away" I'd say I am in terms of how soft it leaves your hair feeling, I keep touching it. And there is SO much shine. So, yeah, I really love it, but I think that's a matter of being the right tool for our family, I wouldn't say it's for everyone, especially if you have other tools you like.

@@julietaylor4476 anything that would put volume in my long straight hair would be worth its weight ha ha. I use a round air brush to get a bit of lift at scalp and a bend to the ends. Knots easily too though so the "leaves soft" is also another good point ;) x

@@loriroberts689 I think it is worth the price if you're someone who's gonna be OK with being patient to figure out the technique and the learning curve. Probably not worth it for somebody who's not willing to put in a little effort to figure it out. Once you have it down it's simple. I don't think it would be worth the price if it was simply that curlers but I think with all the attachments it's more value for money

Moroccan oil is Not water soluble, so unless you are clarifying weekly it’s all dimithicone build up which will not allow moisture into the hair, thus making it dry. Also another blogger wrapped the hair around the curler for about 10 seconds and held it, the results were very good.

HI! thanks for your video...I appreciate it and love that you don't take yourself too seriously. Only thing I'd say is I think your hair looks fantastic! I'm not sure what 'look' you want, you said this isn't the way you normally wear your hair...but maybe try it more!?! It looks natural, fun, sexy and seems to suit your personality. Just one viewers opinion but I think it looks great :)

Thanks for sharing your impression of this tool... I do have a question... you said you didn't like their blow dryer, that it made your hair dry. Do you feel that this tool will make your hair dry ? If yes or no, why or why not... Thank You... 😊

I literally section my hair now. This dryer is not a new idea but much much nicer and it seems smooth. Is your hair point cut! Or layered throughout? I am old but we used to undercut our hair. Do you cut under the hair to lift. Love love volume.is it louder than others?

My hair is very coarse and frizzes easily. Because it is so dry and I use no additional hair products on it, I can go 4 to 6 weeks without washing in and it still looks nice. I have managed for decades to air dry it for a while, then use a blow dryer and big round bristle brush for drying and styling. I could go to my hair sytlist after washing my hair just for a blow dry for one year, and it would cost me less than that gadget, and not even be annoyed having to use it.

I am so glad you did a review! I’ve been wanting to see one with the prospective of someone who knows hair! I thought your review of the flat and round brush were amazing and the results looked great. Can I request that you do another using the curling wands? I would love to see you use them with damp hair instead of drying your hair with the brushes first. I’m dying to see how the curls look that way and how they last.

Looks great but for me it just takes too long. Also blow drying damages my hair so I stopped. The instyler does the same. What kind of root pump did you use? I have started a channel for tips on older women, I’m 65. My first video is for volume with my instyler. Wish I had you hair. Thanks for the info.

If you use the cold shot button before letting the curl fall off the barrel, the curl will hold a lot longer.

Your hair looks great, even though you didn't use the wand as directed (on damp hair). I'd be curious to see what difference (if any) there would be. From the various reviews I've watched on this tool, particularly the wand, it seems to work better on shorter hair such as yours. Thanks for the review!

Seems like rather than switching the curling ends on the base for the correct direction, you could, after doing one side, bring your arm up over your head and do the other side and it would curl in the correct direction. That would drive me a bit crazy trying to figure out which direction it's curling! I have trouble with that with any curling device! :D

Perfekt 👍 👍👍

Arghhh your hair looks beautiful but this really isn’t how you are supposed to use it! Hair should be wet when using it and you should hold the hair at the midsection when letting the dyson wrap it. You then need to cold shot the hair to ‘set’ the curl. You also really have to turn the machine off before letting the hair drop out of the tool. Xx

I love all the people spazzing over you not using it on damp hair. OMG! I'm cracking up. She stated that this was pretty much her first time using it. She was messing around with the various tools and sharing it with everyone. Furthermore, do all you guys follow every single direction to products? Really? Maybe it's time for some yoga videos or something. It just amazes me the amount of rude comments I read on these KZfaq channels. What's really humorous is I doubt the bulk of you people would be so honest face to face. If you are, I can't imagine anyone enjoying your company. And here come the hate bombs pointed at my head lol. Great job on showing us this product. I couldn't fork out that much for it, but it looks like it's pretty amazing.

I got one that comes with many different tools to style according to needs, I have thin hair and the other dryers burned my hair, now I use this with the round brush one and is easier so I don’t have to hold 2 things. I love the volume I get and I use a setting that is medium heat so I don’t burn my hair. It is expensive, but I think I won’t have to buy any other tool so I would save money on the long run.

I went to a Dyson booth at the local mall and they styled my hair with it at midday. The curls were gone by eight in the evening even though they used styling products. If I curl my hair with heat the curls can stay up to 3 days so no I don't think I'll be buying this. In addition they could not curl my whole head, it does not curl well up to the roots like she said in the video, so if you have fine, long, flat hair like I do it looks a bit weird

pulling out the curler while her hair was still warm is what straightened the top. If she had used the cool and then turned off the air before removing, it would have been curlier all the way up.
