@Sheen2237 күн бұрын
And another Fun Fact: Third Street Godzilla is really large.. not even funny its larger than Godzilla Earth.
@The_Story_Of_UsАй бұрын
Yeah nah, like the plan to kill Godzilla in this movie is like the best one ever. Like the man said, ocean pressure at like a mile down below sea level is INSANE. The reason animals like Sperm whales can do that is because they don't do it quickly and they all but dump all the oxygen in their lungs, or they would get crushed. And then, the plan to drag it back up is good because once an animal is down that far, if they go back up again really quick, they'll basically explode because to survive the pressure down there their internal pressure needs to match the external pressure of the surrounding water, which means that if the surrounding water suddenly becomes far less pressurized, the internal pressure of the animal would basically blow them up like a balloon. So when Godzilla is taken down to the bottom of the sea you can see man is STUNNED because the pressure is so great, and then when he gets dragged back up again, you can see man's eyes are popping out of his head and his scales are falling off because he's bloating. The only reason the plan didn't work is because they underestimated just how tough it was.
@robstefani9853Ай бұрын
He also chewed through the wire which allowed him to settle at a depth for a few minutes. It wasn't enough to mitigate all the damage he received, but it did give him time for his body to start adapting to the pressure and slowly repair some of the damage.

Those Warships on the movie are real ships that survive the war. The one that Goji stomps and get blast in the face was IJN Takao. She is the largest Heavy Cruiser in the world (no, Alaska is a Battlecruiser), she armed with 10 203mm guns and carries 8 sides of 610mm Type 93 Torpedoes. It is also the most heavily armed cruiser at the time before Alaska Class. The other two that participated to defeat Goji are IJN Yukikaze and IJN Hibiki. Yukikaze have a reputation of “Lucky Ship” she participated in many WWII campaigns that should’ve be her down fall, but she survives every single time. Fun Fact. After the war Yukikaze was take by The Chinese and she still has her luck, as Yukikaze is the reason why Taiwan is Taiwan today. Hibiki was taken by the soviets. Which kinda funny if you look at Minus One. They defeat Goji by pure Luck of Yukikaze. I find the movie to be a bit funny that US are scared of USSR than a Radio Active Lizard that can perform Fallout Series if it wanted to.
@skyhunt9595Ай бұрын

This movie was originally in color, but a black and white version has been released. In Japanese culture, "death before dishonor" was a serious credo. And kamikaze pilots were volunteers. Shikishima swore an oath to die for his country, but he was too afraid. It wasn't him his neighbor was specifically angry at, but all the "cowards" like him she blamed for Japan losing.
@seanrush3723Ай бұрын
That credo still echoes to this day. Film did a great job critiquing that mindset
There's so much that makes this arguably the best Godzilla movie. I love the original, and I was blown away by Shin Godzilla and felt that nothing could top it at the time, but this one really got under my skin. In Hollywood blockbusters nowadays they claim 'it's about family' or 'it's about the friends we made along the way' but aside from running from green-screen set-piece to set-piece the characters rarely share any genuine emotion or moments. (There's a few honourable exceptions, sure.) In Godzilla Minus One you grow to deeply care about this post-war family growing together out of the shattered ruins. Tokyo lost over 100,000 people in one night of the fire-bombings, and the film is a sobering reminder that a lot of 'families' weren't related but were survivors trying to piece their lives back together and beginning new ones. I honestly feel that this film could have gone on being a post-war family story without Godzilla showing up, and I would have loved it. But Godzilla does show up. And because we love and care for the people (and the people of Tokyo are all sharing in this same story) we grow to fear and hate the impossible, near-malevolent unnatural force that crashes into their lives. I've never hated Godzilla until this movie. Shin made me a little in awe of him at points, but this one, this one I truly dreaded the big monster appearing. I'd hope this next appearance would be delayed each time, that things would get better for the characters. As I usually want to see big monsters stomping on things in movies, this was something of a unique experience where I actively didn't want Godzilla to show up. I just wanted him to leave them all alone. It's the most emotional Godzilla movie for me and it's actually about something, which all great monster movies are. That being said though go check out 'Destroy All Monsters', the big monster-mash wrestlemania face-off from the original series of movies featuring a whole host of Kaiju escaping from 'Monster Island' ("Don't worry, it's just a name!"). I loved it as a kid and it's still goofy fun.

Its hard to explain, but basically the gas created a wall around godzilla separating him from the water pressure. So he went from zero water pressure on his body to being sunken down to 1500 meters and that pressure hit him instantly instead of it gradually getting heavier as he went down. Thats why his spikes went into his back again the pressure crushed them in. Then bringing him to the surface was like essentially bringing a blob fish up. If youve seen a blob fish in the pictures theyre disgusting flesh blobs. But under water at their depth theyre beautiful fish. The transfer from deep to up at that speed breaks the barrier and breaks their body down. So godzilla breaking the barier of the surface exposed him to the air causing his body to break up

How did you watch this where can you watch it? I can’t find any platform for watching it
@avriixiaАй бұрын
00:54 It may be because they mixed it up with Minus One (1954) which was the original, maybe first, Godzilla movie. Godzilla Minus One (2023) is the remake of the 1954 version.

How’d you watch it? (If I may ask) Can I just create an account on Japan’s Prime Video to watch it and use a free subscription? Will a VPN work alternately?

I am Japanese. As has already been said in other comments, the heroine, Noriko, was alive because she was struck by Godzilla cells that were spewed out along with the rays. The black bruise you saw on Noriko's neck is the part where Godzilla cells were infected. It is said that the director originally planned for him to die, but he wanted him to meet Shikishima, so he changed it to a cross-section arrangement.

The reason they didn’t run in the boat after the second mine explosion is cause the boat was damaged.

What I love about this movie is that it perfectly captures Godzilla’s pure hatred for humanity, one of the characteristics of his that has seemingly dwindled over the years. He actively goes out of his way to cause as much destruction and death as possible, as if it’s all deliberate.

@citizenbrain8065Ай бұрын
People only talk about the dropping of nukes on Japan. Operation Meetinghouse was arguably just as bad. Firebombing Tokyo had about the same amount of deaths as Hiroshima and was far more brutal. Nuclear blast.. or a city wide 1,800 degree oven and fire storms. I know what i'd choose.

The scene 49:08 was the result of the radiation when godzilla blasted his atomic breath, and many other survivors probably have it. Expect a sequel in a while (5-10 years as my prediction)
