@@samdaisy4182 There is no problem with not wanting to date someone you don’t want to date. It is when you count out an entire group of people because of unfair assumptions and prejudice. Like, I’ve met people who literally thought I was perfect and we hit it off SO WELL then will tell me it won’t work out because I’m openly bisexual because “I’m not a real gay” or “could cheat” it’s super unfair!

@@sarahmarie3317 I agree with 100%. That said, as I explained elsewhere here, there are some lesbians that have confessed to being biphobic because of an experience(s) they’ve had. As far as cutting out an entire group of people because of a “label”, that happens with straight people all the time. My brother would never consider dating a guy for instance. But I get your meaning. I am biphobic for myself, in that I won’t go out with one. But I certainly have a couple of close friends that identify as such. And the ones I know (except for one a decade back) they are all sweet and gracious. If someone hates, or even disrespects a group of people for any reason it’s bigotry. I don’t feel that way at all. I think the best analogy is whether someone would date a smoker. The person that smokes could be a great person, but a non smoker probably wouldn’t go out with one. It’s not bigotry, it’s preference. 🤔

because there are so many biphobics i started to call myself a pansexual, which are way more welcome to the gay community and i dont even know why, because its kinda similar to each other. (side note: i actually AM pansexual, because genders really dont matter to me, im attracted to charisma and personalities, not with their pronounces or bodies)

Wanted to comment, didn't know what to say, didn't want to come off as wierd, whoops ... too late. :p Edited to add: And now I'm realizing that I'm doing what I often do, using humour to hide behind, so I don't have to deal with emotions. I used to consider myself emotionaly stunted, virtually incapable of more than the barest imitations of the ... shall we say softer emotions. Now, I realize it's more that I wall myself off from my emotions, because I just don't know how to process them. Why am I saying this to a relative stranger in a public venue, when my instinct has always been to try and remain unseen, or failing that, make a joke? When for some reason I have tears in my eyes just typing this? Because I'm trying to connect more with people, even though I find it difficult. So, yeah, I identify with that bit about trying to be more open about your emotions.
