This video shows my first trip to Malta, which is located just south of Sicily.
From Bologna Airport to Malta Airport, I flew with Ryanair, which took about one and a half hours.
The round-trip fare was €90, including seat selection fees.
Currently, the official languages of Malta are Maltese and, due to the influence of British rule, English, although Italian is also spoken in many places, as it was also an official language until the 1930s and many people emigrated from Italy.
I have seen the President of the EU Parliament spoke in Italian on the news.
The base for this stay and two nights was not in the capital, Valletta, but in Sliema, on the other side of the sea. The seafront is a promenade and there were many people walking and running along it. The seafront is lined with hotels and flats, but inland there are old-fashioned houses with colourful bay windows, and it was interesting to see the gap between the them.

Strategic place to look around.
In summer, the area is overflowing with tourists. As the sea is not my main interest, I was glad that the off-season was relatively slow and stress-free for sightseeing.
This time I looked around Sliema, but stay tuned for my future videos on my visit to Imdina, the old capital with its old appearance, and a walk around the capital city of Valletta.
