The technology is amazing. Of course, the price tag is more than I have in my whole boat. One of these days I would love to be able to upgrade though.

A lot of fish have been caught with no technology at all man. Keep them lines wet and the fish will come.

How often does it drop out of GPS signal? I'm in Australia and I've heard that's quite the problem

Honestly pretty often now. The first few times I used it I had zero problems. I would still recommend it but just keep in mind that It will lose signal so have your remote close by.

I had to email Humminbird with both model numbers and they told me.

Felix Mikki almost toasted when it works yes. The problem I run into is that the gps loses signal or something and every now and then it freaks out and loses position.

Down River Fishing are you in trees to loose position? I Am looking to uograde to an Ipilot 24 volt 80 Trying to decide which HB: Terrova, ulterra or ultrex. Will be going the link for the follow contour feature.

Felix Mikki almost toasted nope right out in the open. Sometimes it will work fine for an hour and sometimes it will only work for a couple minuets. Best thing you can do is buy one with a return period and keep trying them out until you find one that works. I did have the ultrex before I got this ulterra and it was really nice. I didn’t get to try out a lot of the features but it was very quite and honestly I wish I had kept it.
