There's a software glitch with the updates where it still shows version 3.1 even though you have 3.2. It's a known issue amongst the ID.4 community.

I got the notification that this video posted today at work and an hour later, I get in my car and I get the OTA update notice too! Great timing! My ID.4 is updating in my garage now. Can't wait to see if there is anything noticably better after it's done. 🤞

I don't think this update really changed much besides readying the car for future updates. Some behind the scenes improvements to climate control, Travel Assist, etc. Nothing noticeable on my end.

My brother and I owned the ID.4 and we live in Las Vegas,Nevada. We got an update long time ago. Mid west areas got this problem a lot. Hope that you happy with the new update and continue enjoying your ID.4

We love the car, despite the software limitations. Hoping things continue to improve as VW seems to be preparing for future updates.

Glad to see someone in the Chicago area having an EV and documenting it on youtube. I have a model y with FSD and its not perfect but its a huge help and a great car to drive. Hopefully you enjoy your ID4! Edit- VW is screwed. Lol. After watching your video, they clearly need 20-30k more "programmers" to get something changed. 😂😂😂

Really hoping that Volkswagen steps up their software game. The new ID.7 and ID.Buzz looks to be significantly improved. Hoping new software trickles down to the early adopters of the ID. line like me...

O M G a two year wait for an update! THIS is why I won’t buy an iD.4. I test drove one a while ago and honestly for my needs I loved it, but their software issues will keep me from actually buying one!

Totally fair. Had I known software was this poor, I probably would have passed. I still love the car though, easily one of the best made in this price segment with regards to physical build quality, in my opinion.

Totally fair. VW has announced NACS in 2025, so that should help.

They’re preparing OTA updates here in Europe as well. It was announced yesterday. First update is for getting existing 3.1-3.2 vehicles up to 3.2.1.

I got an email that the update was coming two months ago and still nothing on my screen, but I guess I'm not surprised.

Mine came in last week while getting in my car to go to the movies. My car was updated in the parking lot while I watched Jason Statham kick the crap out of people.

My Tesla will only let me install updates when I'm on WiFi, so there's something that VW has on Tesla? Though I get an update every couple weeks...

Interesting. I don't think VW has ever prompted me to connect to my home WiFi. It's all cellular.

Drape the charging handle on the blocking Tesla’s sideview mirror in an effort to plug them in. The Tesla driver will appreciate the effort of someone trying to help them plug in when it’s obvious they must have forgotten to do so themselves. It’s thoughtful!

I don't see any differences between the 2022 model Y and the 2023, the software is thr same it's just too much talking and too much publicity. Tesla is a phone trying to be a car. I used to work at Tesla by the way.

ID 4 is better when it comes to actually being a car. I ve sit on Model Y , 3 and God the suspension is terrible.

The only issue is insuring Tesla Model 3/Y where I live is 5x compared to ID.4 even though they are the same or similar price.
