I arrived at UWC Red Cross Nordic this year as a student from the US National Committee! I decided to create a small video with videos and memories of my first year here.
Hello everyone! I'm Félicie, a Belgian-American who moved from Belgium to the US in 2013. UWC, or United World Colleges, is a global educational movement with 18 schools around the world. For a simple explanation, the UWC mission states that "UWC makes education a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future". Every UWC school is made up of a deliberately diverse community of passionate students from different backgrounds who gather together for their last two years of high school. I was nominated to go to UWC Red Cross Nordic in Flekke, Norway, which has over 90 different nationalities with around 205 students.
A huge thank you to Shelby Davis, who gives the Davis Scholarship to around 50 students from the US each year to attend a UWC school and scholarships to UWC students from all over the world to attend US Universities after UWC. We are incredibly grateful to you!
