Hi Kasey. A little tip that I started when I was on call for power outages. Target and other stores have sample/travel sizes of tooth paste, body wash and travel toothbrushes ,sample size deodorants and little bottles you can put a small amount of cosmetics in. I always used a gallon size Ziploc freezer bag to put a tiny little sample of all my toiletry stuff in my desk. Yours would fit in your big purse. I just had to adjust to being told at 5 pm that I wasn't going home or getting a last minute call for an overnight 12 hour stay to take emergency calls. I just started trying to be prepared for anything especially with summer pop up storms or possibility of ice storms. Just make you a Ziploc emergency toiletry bag for your big purse and you have everything.

I've learned to always bring the essentials (toothbrush/tooth paste, make up, PJs) on 1 day trips/turns. You only make that mistake once lol

Just found your channel. I was a F/A with UAL from 3/88- 10/04 based out of IAD when I was effectively medically retired from injuries sustained on a flight..( Long story.) Being an F/A was the most fun job I ever had and even though I had an incredible career after, I still miss it. Your story today reminded me of a trip I had in 92 when we had an ice storm. I hade a vehicle that could make the drive and when I got to inflight I was told my flight had canceled. I asked if there was any flight that could use me and I quickly hopped on a trip to Orlando and the spent the next 3 days trying to work back home. I still am in contact with my flying partners and see them almost every year. enjoy and safe flying.

I'm getting on my first ever flight next week and I'm doing it solo. I've haven't been so excited/nervous for something in a while lol

Very busy lifestyle you got KC. Got to love how some things don't go as planned. I love flying at night for some reason. I love to see cities light up like a Christmas tree at night. I got a chance to see NYC at night from airplane and it was incredible. ❤

I work for Alaska Air as a CSA agent (Hi oneworld family :D) and it happens a lot up here. Think we had 3 flights going out at once (725, 730, 745) and all 3 got canceled due to the dreaded 3 letter F word FOG. We had a few AA FA's deadheading to Seattle, and DFW that day. So was interesting rebooking them so they can deadhead back. Hope your staying safe! And hope you come visit Alaska sometime now we are part of oneworld!

Love the small park at the end of the airport in Dallas where you can watch the planes come in and listen to ATC.

OMG. I recognized your hotel room, that’s a newer Hyatt House. Stayed in one that was exactly the same as that with the swivel tv and the island in the kitchen. I’ve never found another hotel room as good as that one LOL

Kasey, I would like to compliment you on doing a fine job. In case it is not said you flight attendants are appreciated. I understand much of what you talk about as a family member does the same job as you so I can relate. Without you guys on the front lines taking care of passengers I’m sure the flying experience wouldn’t be the same. You guys make the difference. I wish your management would open their eyes a bit more and take that into consideration and remember that at contract time. There is a reason people choose your airline over others. I believe it’s the staff. I am thankful for the job you flight attendants do. I know it’s not easy being on your feet all day, so whenever I fly I will thank you. I just hope that your company recognizes the effort that is made for the passengers because you certainly do deserve respect and a pay raise as well!

Kacey girl you need a "turn bag". I had a easy ORD/DEN turn during 9/11. I was stuck for 4 days with only my make up bag! We all quick ran to Target (in our uniforms) before we all were told not to leave our hotels. It was an experience that taught me "ALWAYS drag a bag"!

Hi Kasey. Just wanted to let you know; I found the cauliflower cheezits at Publix. The Chick Filet sauce too.

And this is why I never do a 1 day with out a “IROP Kit” a pilot gave me that advice and once and it has come in handy over so much the last 8 years! I use a drawstring back pack and in it I put a sun dress (doubles as a night dress), light thin knit cardigan, leggings, tshirt, socks, underwear, hat, flip flops, and my toiletry/make up kit. My company gives us a roller satchel/tote we call a one day bag. But this will also fit in a regular tote. I just make sure I roll all the clothes up together in one little bundle and put it in the backpack. We got stuck in Antigua once I was so grateful for the swimsuit, sundress, hat, flip-flops, and sunscreen, I could actually enjoy that IROP. Unlike one of the other flight attendants who only had Christmas pyjamas and stayed in her room the whole time!

I think I would be taking my luggage with me from now on. I always like to be prepared. When you are prepared nothing happens and being prepared would have been a waste. I felt really bad for you being there with no makeup and the things you need. Appears to be one of those situations where you are darned if you do, darned if you don't. You survived and that is what matters. You still looked beautiful when you arrived in Dallas.

Wow that is a very cool hotel room. I have never stayed in anything like that traveling for work. Although I did stay at a place in downtown Chicago that was an apartment laid out like that for about a month for work. At least you are working. Most important. And Chick Fil A always. lol
