By international law you now owe the U.S. a French bistro in exchange for the Popeyes. Please have it shipped by helicopter to my hometown in Colorado, preferably within walking distance. Enjoy your videos and look forward to the bistro delivery.

Glad that Popeyes is stressing the importance of personalized service in their over seas locations. It is something that Americans sometimes take for granted. I am glad you enjoyed your visit to my area, St. Louis, and we miss you too. At least you got a place local to go to get a taste of American service until we see you over here again.

When I watch I also listen to how you are talking. For some reason I was certain that your speaking “American” was dramatically improved in the last few months. I went back to videos from 10-12 months ago and I was right. Now there is little hesitation when speaking. The language just flows. No searching for words or translating in your mind before you speak. I didn’t notice the gradual change as being that distinct and then it was just - wow! That’s not improvement, that’s accomplishment! But, don’t lose too much of the accent. 🇫🇷🇺🇸🐔👍

They didn't provide enough dipping sauce for the amount of food. When you go, get them to give you several different sauces. Also, ask for "Cajun Sparkle". It's a seasoning salt that goes great on all their food. They're often out of it, so you may want to ask a manager. If they have it, get a couple packs. I especially like it on the fried chicken and mixed into the red beans and rice. They may not have it, but you gotta try.

I'm glad to hear that those working there felt the need to ask you about the service, food quality, etc. As I'll get that now and again here in the states, but it doesn't happen nearly enough and it should, especially with what fast food currently cost. Most places seem happy to just let service fall off and if you don't like it, eat elsewhere is the mentality. Businesses could be so much better if they cared just enough to ask basic questions of its customers.

Great to see people in Europe are finally getting a literal taste of just how good us Southerners are at making food here and getting to know abit of our culture. As a matter of fact we have some of the top restaurants and chefs in the nation. Even if it's fast food Popeye's is actually one of the few that are actually really really good. And If there's one thing we're fiercely proud of it's our widely various cuisine. When it comes to the U.S we're literally the only place you can find things that are authentically 100% Southern and American. On top of that we make the best dishes whether it's BBQ, grilling, smoking, Cajun, Creole, etc, etc. Good to see ya'll enjoyed. I know you've been to the U.S and have gone to Texas but you should bring your family down to the South so you can try all of the other great foods we have here as well. Happy eating and have a great 2024/New Year! Love from Oklahoma!

Your brother said "not cooked enough". I assure you it is cooked well enough. That texture comes from the brining process. Down right it feels soft like barely cooked chicken, but an overdone brine leaves it chewy and stringy.

High Praise. I am from the states and I too agree its a bit salty, but its a good taste. One thing that I will always trust any French person on is their opinion of food. Every time I have ever had food made by a French person it was some of the best food I've ever had. So when you say its good I believe it, and when you say its horrible I believe that as well. thank you for including your family and it was nice to hear a good honest opinion. I agree with you and your family on the food.

Yeah, the first time I had Popeye's was at a food court in a mall in Jersey City across from Manhattan in the late 90's and I agree its too salty. The best fast food chicken I have had is Pollo Loco in the West Coast and Nando's in London. Although my absolute favorite is Korean chicken, but I can't really call that fast food.

Having lived in France off and on over the years I've found that, usually, restaurants that serve American or "Americanized" food are never actual like American cuisine (I was once served "guacamole" in an upscale Parisian restaurant that made me gag). It seems that more often than not such places "tweak" the recipes to make them more "French like" so the food would be more acceptable to French tastes (for instance, I've found Americans are generally used to food that's more salty than what the French like). However, to me, changing recipes to suit the host country completely defeats the purpose of serving authentic American food - or authentic food from any country. If you want food that's like that served in a foreign country it should be the same, and let the people decide if they like it or not. With that said, from your reaction it seems Popeyes has come close to being like the Popeyes I love so much here. Of course, Popeyes chicken has always been popular because of the extra spicy Cajun breading and side dishes - something that for many takes a little getting used to. But being a native Texan, I was raised on spicy Tex-Mex and Southern cooking.

Bonjour Marie! I really like Popeye's, but I don't go too often because it's mostly fried foods, lol. Their chicken is real, not pressed chicken meat like many fast food places. The chicken in their sandwiches are usually really big, thick pieces. I typically get the Spicy version of their food. Oh, and I don't know if they have it there in France, but I love their blackened chicken (not fried) but I also don't know if it's always available or if it comes and goes as a limited time item? I love their Cajun fries, but I don't get them with bacon nor cheese, just plain is fine with me! I'm glad you and your family enjoyed it, and I hope you go there and try other options to see what all you like most. Bonne Année! ~Be Blessed
