Hey Makayla! Glad to hear about your experience so far! As a college senior, my best advice to you is to let go of our expectations! I think especially as creatives, we have a specific vision for how we want our college experience to go, but it rarely works out that way and that can throw us into emotional and mental spirals. It is okay and encouraged to plan, but don’t get so wrapped up in your plan that you are not flexible enough to handle the setbacks and the detours and the recalibrations. It’s okay for things not to work out! Also I remember from an older video of yours that you are a Christian - if that is still your belief, sticking close to your faith even when you are short on time and energy will really help! Love you sis!

3:30 I can TOTALLY relate to this. College is huge time management. Here’s a secret: I bombed my first semester but still was successful. It’s all good and not as important as they make you feel. That being said, first semester GPA is good and if you do well you’re pretty golden moving forward bc it’s easier to maintain rather than build. These opportunities are great but balance is hard. Having editors for now might be a good idea and know you can always take the reigns back in a few years if you choose! Now that I’m older- floating is the best and having close friends in different areas of life IS OK and not having a ton of besties or a close group is fine! I keep in touch with two friends from college as well. Your 20’s are really where you make friends as you grow!

don’t push yourself to much makayla :) nobody is as hardworking as you are, try making some time for yourself! i know the struggles of editing, im an editor myself. i enjoy exploring new editing styles, i hope you find an editor & assistant soon! maybe you’ll have more time on your hands :) i’m personally not into acting or screen writing, but i find you so entertaining and i cant stop watching your videos. they’re so well edited & entertaining!!! i would absolutely love editing movies though! do you think usc has that? anywho, continue your hard work!! 💗

Dont be, from a sophomore it’s fine, and depending on your major and what college you attend it can get complicated. However, keep pushing through, and if you really enjoy your major things will turn out fine.

You just have to manage correctly. When first arriving, I would suggest not focusing on the party life. Focus on getting accustomed, having financials in order and doing your school work. 2nd semester you can relax a bit

Hello, I saw your videos about having a role in a show, or audutions. But I have so much questions and problems.. I hope you can help me. The biggest problem is, I have social anxiety and I really want to be an actor. And I want to change my name, surname. I also want to be America citizen. And my question is, the difference between actor and actress. Men actor and Women actress, but they use actor when they talk about a woman too, im so confused, they dont really use actress or idk. If you were an actor, do I have to call you "actor" or "actress"

I didn't find "my people" in college until second semester freshman year. Just focus on your interests and join clubs that interest you, and you will naturally gravitate towards your people :-)

Im just gonna share my thoughts Glad to see a senior from a different country since im from the Philippines on my way to my sophomore year under the course of BS Psychology, For me Stress is unavoidable for all people it depends on how you navigate through it. Don't let the expectations get into you, decide on your own but decide it carefully, take one challenge at a time, have sometime for yourself, study if you must but not too much, friendships. Manage your time well (time is gold) a lost time cannot be brought or buy back. See you succeed in your life Makayla!

It's great to hear of your experiences! I always found university tough social-wise. I made one good friend from a religious studies class, but other than that, I felt like I was always spending so much time studying and doing assignments. Yes, the writing of movies is amazing! Whenever I see a movie with terrible lines, I never think badly of those actors in terms of their performances. My first thought is, I feel sorry for the actors for having to work with such a crappy script.

im currently an upperclassman in highschool and im feeling the same thing. Im in cheer, a choir ensemble and i do theatre. All that on top of my classes But in the end whatever you do is worth it if you love what you do, if you don't love it, then maybe its time to drop it. That's a lesson i had to learn
