My dream car is a blue vw t25 crew cab/ doka pickup. Not many were sold new in Ireland back in the 1980s so they are a rare sight. Can you please shows us the other doka your friend has and the mk1 golf gti parked beside the orange doka please

Your vids just keep getting better. The mk4 reminds me of my wifes old car, it was a very highly specced German import highline with the same interior, 4x electric windows air-con etc unfortunately it had the rubbish 1.6 engine so it was replaced by a Mk5 GTi. Was looking forward to seeing more of the Helios mk1 GTI and Honda Civic :)

I quite like that Capella estate. It'd be suitable for my neck of the woods with the AWD. Supercharged diesels aren't unheard of, but in a car they're rare as an honest politician!

Hi Colin hope you & family are doing good. That was one awesome video. I've never heard of a Mazda Capella before, let alone a supercharged diesel. I would definitely but that, I love the color of it too. If you bought that, I would help you fix it. I'm going to be back home in Saint Leonard's on sea Sussex in November on vacation, I would help you with that car if you bought it. Take care and stay safe.

wow that vento transported me bacl in time i had a VW vento VR6 supplied by hawco volkswagen in peterhead scotland i loved that car. thanks for the trip back in time.

also incredibly rare now too . as I said at the top shame the reg plates missing .. I d love to have the chance to restore it keep it .. if its a 1993 plate it might have been kimberly anne jones . too oh to be able to find out ???

I had the 1992 vw vento gli 1.8 it's was little rocket thrashed that car for a year. It never let me down till I crashed it. That car saved my life. For a 1992 car it was very safe

Ohhhhh dear!!!... I've just watched this video with my mouth wide open.... :):)... I'm a vw lover myself... OMG!!!! I want to buy them alll please sir... the one sat next to the s25 twin cab( very rare).... is also a very very sort after car... love the first 2 mark3s your friend has... coilovers might lend a hand... along with some 18inch 3sdm alloys just to finish them off.... :):) loving your work :):)

The Japanese woman talking is the electronic toll collection system talk box. Which you can see on the side of the centre console where your left knee would be. You just need to disconnect it.

When you put the key in, she's telling you to put a card in that box down buy your left leg in the car. Just unplug the card box.

Oh damn, brings back so many great memories. I had a golf IV 1.9tdi 130 tdi estate with Montreal alloys. Such a great model. I really miss it. Had it 8 yrs. it’s still on the road with 230k on the clock ⏰

oh I remember the Vento ..I would love to have the chance to take it on and restore it . and keep it . shame the reg plates missing .. sadly I don t currently have enough money for the project .. you should have checked the engine on it too, I m not on social media . so if I get some money so I could make a serious attempt to take on the Vento I ll let you know on here .

Great content. Word of caution mk3 golf's and vento's didn't really rot outside, but underneath especially the sills can be very rotton.

Used to have a Vento VR6 and was a really well put together car but no-one wanted them back in the day because it wasn't a golf 🤷‍♂️ I loved it cause it was different but not that quick unfortunately.

Pretty sure the golf estate won’t have a DSG gearbox, just a tiptronic one, r32 was the only mk4 to get the DSG

That imported golf mark 4 isn’t dsg it’s just a 5 speed tiptronic. The only mk4’s that had dsg was the r32. That aside it was another great video with some really cool cars especially the supercharged diesel in that Mazda.

Heck of a collection. The Vento in diesel was fairly popular over here in Ireland. The Japanese VR60 is strange, in that most Jaoanese cars are right hand drive.

There is a fashion in Japan to have foreign cars in left hand drive, oddly though you do see quite a lot on original minis in left hand drive too.

Am I right in saying the Vento was known as the Jetta here in the UK or was that the model before it drove a few of the Jettas in the early 80 when I did some trade plate work for a local VW dealer

Over here in nz there were hundreds of Mazda capella supercharger diesels imported. They use an RF rmodel engine. 2 litre. They were disasters. The pressure wave supercharger uses some of the exhaust gas to push the inlet air into the engine. Not a standard scroll rotor type unit like most superchargers. There is only 1 rotor and it looks like a honeycomb. Probly most advanced design for the Era but was awful in reality. Has a large plastic diverting valve in the air intake route that rattles and gave lots of issues. The engine would not start if the belt was fractionally loose. With the exhaust gas partly mixing with inlet air the cylinder bores would get worn away. I didn't know of one that did decent mileage before crapping out. However for a 2 litre diesel when they were running right they went better than a turbo equivalent.
