When high up you can just jump off and log off midair and get back on and not take fall damage and you don't have to place a boat then to off you can just clutch it.

"not to be rude" he had iron 2 planks which means he could craft sticks and a pickaxe from the iron and the sticks and break the cobblestone to escape. AND in the monument part he had a bucket and there was alot of water he coudlve escaped easily
