I didn't have one when I did this video. This video is nearly three years old now and I've added another 50-60 since it was done. I do have an X920 now though.

Yeah! That is definitely something awesome to behold! I saw such a cool ass "work of art" in a movie awhile back, but I couldn't remember what movie??? Well, I was thumbing through the previously viewed dvds at the local 711 last week, and I came across "Step Up 3". I knew I saw 1 and 2 and liked them both. I didn't remember seeing 3, but when I looked at the back cover of dvd I saw that wall of boomboxes in the background of one of the pics! I was like Ahh shit!!! Yes, I bought the dvd. lol ;)

Wow awesome collection!! I have a toshiba bombeat 40 rat-s913 I got in Japan 1982. It's been in a box protected for over a deacade. Tape player does not work,needs a belt I think . The belt went bad over time .

I have seen a lot of boombox collections but the one you have seems to be more appealing. I have both the Sharp GF-777 and the Conion C-100F as I have had several over the years such as the JVC RC-M70, 838, 550, and Sanyo M9990. I would like to know the sound quality of the Sharp GF-9696 and Sanyo M9994 ?

If u ever get a chance to get a Panasonic rxdt680 grab it. Those things have the best bass response of any boombox I've heard. It hits deep ( real deep especially for a portable) and u can crank them to the max and distortion is very minamal. Plus it has an awesome warmth to it that's reminiscent of a home stereo. Nice collection by the way!!

@boehm145 Each radio takes 8-10D's, but I've only got 20 rechargeables. Enough to have two to carry around during the week for whichever one takes my fancy.

@1SoundBlaster cassette/record player rubber parts will most likely go bad before cassette tapes does! but that's not a good reason to trash these beautiful objects, they deserve to be collected and preserved forever. these are icons of the 80s and great pieces of design and engeneering.
