I guess GVM has greater respect than the questions that has been asked to him… You could have picked his mind about lot of other stuff.!!! His movies has made people to become IPS officers etc… his writing skills can be asked about… rather than calling him only for love and girl fans and colourful… etc… Respects to both GVM and Mani rathnam

@@BC999 First of all you should understand what others likes you're not allowed to criticise others . Further I grew up seeing Maniratnam films. Every director is inspiring from previous generation directors either in story or making , so i don't think it's wrong. Somewhat the cinema moves ahead. He is different from other filmmakers. If you don't like maniratnam & his works then it's your own view. Comparison is a waste of time. Rather you compare simply appreciate.

@@84Dhinesh What is your point?! None of what you have said makes one feel Mani Ratnam is "the master". One thing I partially agree with you is "He WAS different from other filmmakers" till 1991 (Thalapathi being his LAST BEST). And yet here, conveniently, both avoid talking about his BEST EVER movies ANJALI, Naayagan, Thalapathi, Mouna Raagam, Agni Natchathiram and Gitanjali (in that particular order)!

i do not understand this, this is in TamilNadu In Madras/chennai about Tamil movies and you do not have Director BharathiRaja , The Director who brings original Tamil movies on screen. Instead you have all these directosr who copy from Hollywood movies and talk about as if they have those original ideas. Very Sad and the audience applaud them .Sad!

stark7509, Trend means FADS "compiled" by mew-sick directors for over 3-6 months per movie in a posh studio where neither the producer nor the director/actor/singers have a clue of what is going on, or how those take "shape" or "trendy music consumers" who forget those "trendy songs", wait for the "next trendy one" because they are already bored with that previous "trendy hit"?! Then, YES, Maestro Ilayaraja is "not in trend" because he only CATERS to whatever is need for the movie WITHOUT bothering about hit status, $$ banner/production, big-shot directors, star actors, his stake in the movie's success/failure, awards etc. He has been doing that and only that from 1976 till date 2023 (Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai) for over 1000+ movies and 7000+ compositions.the so-calle
