I have to say, and I feel he doesn't get enough credit, Geoffrey Cantor (editor in chief of the bulletin) really does great work in this series. He shocked me by the (current) end of the series with just how much I liked/cared about his character.

You should definitely watch at least the first season of Punisher. Just to watch the glee in Jen's face with all the violence.

FYI - they confirmed they ARE coming to Disney+ now (starting with Disney+ Canada). There are plenty of adult level shows/movies on Disney+ now so the old stereotype of Disney not allowing this stuff doesn't fly and hasn't been that way for a long time now.

Without spoiling season 3, the reason why Karen cares so much about Frank is because she sees herself in him. Remember, she killed Wesley and, from a certain point of view (Thanks, Obi-Wan!), she killed Ben Urich. So she sees Frank, another killer who did what he did for reasons that are pretty understandable, just like her (With Wesley, it was kill or be killed, and with Ben, she obviously didn't mean to get him killed, but she just wanted to stop Fisk from winning, but I also have a hard time letting that slide), and thinks that if he can be redeemed, so can she. Her telling Frank that if he kills Schoonover, he becomes the monster is her telling herself that, kinda like Peter forgiving himself through forgiving Sandman in S-M3. Her tears as she walks away were because she thinks she just lost her shot at redemption. Obviously, we knew that Frank was gonna kill him, and even Karen did, but she'll take any and every chance to stop something bad from happening to herself and to other people, regardless of the method and consequences. And that's what makes her character interesting. Sure, it's very frustrating at times, but I'll take frustrating over one-note any day. And this show is so damn good at making sure the characters are NEVER one-note.

Y’all can watch anything you want as long as you watch Daredevil season 3. Straight up one of the best seasons of television ever.

I rushed to get my second viewing of this series in before it leaves Netflix, and I liked it even more this time. BTW if they are still sold, Jen should get a Slanket! It seems to fit the channel MO.

Remember in the previous episode Frank was enjoying that song on the tape? Karen ejected it out of the tape player and put it in the glovebox. Later, when she starts the car it’s already out of the glovebox and playing the same song. That was a sign from Frank saying he’s alive and has her back. Pretty much the “Rollo Tomasi” of this show. (IF that went over your head, watch L.A Confidential).

I would love to see the reactions to season 3 and the Punisher series. Honestly, I'd love to see you react to all the series.

Matt’s primal yell when he defeats the ninjas in the sewer is one of my (top 10) favorite moments of the Daredevil series. Also if you 2 watch the Punisher series (not to spoil), but there may be more Karen/Frank interaction or maybe not. As Holden says, “who’s to say?”

Karen is the frog and the Punisher is the scorpion and Karen just can't wrap her mind around that.

Please watch Jessica Jones season 1 together. It’s a fantastic story exploring some very real themes, and has THE best MCU villain.

9:28 It's a well-implemented "call back" to the scene in the garage, where Frank picks Karen up in her own car. He plays the cassette with the song--which he likes, because it reminds him of his family--but Karen ejects the cassette and throws it into the glove compartment. When she hears the song again, she's suddenly reminded that the cassette wasn't in the radio console. The camera briefly pauses on a shot of the eject button, to help the audience remember as well.

When you watch season 3 of Daredevil, you'll learn Karen's backstory- then you'll have to reevaluate her character completely and see why she is how she is... Anyway, my vote is Defender's and then Daredevil Season 3. You can watch the Defenders without the other series and it works just fine- since you'll learn about them as Matt does. And there's too much narrative gap if you skip Defenders and go right into DDS3.

To ppl saying they should do the other 3 shows before Defenders: There’s 39 ep of those other 3 to get through. If Holden/Jen keep to the 2 Episodes per week schedule; that’s 5 months until Defenders. Talk about killing momentum

We are all aware that you are quite excited to be getting the Defenderverse in Hockeyland on Disney+ on March 16th. However, if you skim past the headlines, you will find that no announcement has been made (as of the date of this comment) regarding US distribution.

Oh god I hope they watch the first season of the Punisher. That first episode alone was so damn good and the entire show is so juicy.

I think watching the first seasons of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist before going into Defenders and Daredevil S3 would be an enjoyable time for Jen and the viewers. I think she would like JJ and LC especially even if Iron Fist and Defenders didn't live up to expectations. And of course at some point you'll need to end it with at least catching S1 of Punisher. If you skip the followup seasons for all the other shows you'll probably be perfectly fine as I don't think any of them are that great or necessary. The best part is, there is no reason to rush it. Daredevil S3 will still be like fine wine in a few months the same as it is today.

I’ve jumped ahead, and watched Defenders and DDS3; and really enjoyed the whole Netflix marvel shows. There is a definite place for these type of gritty and grounded marvel shows, really hope Disney finds a way to put this kind of content on their family friendly app. Just create a MA/R section with parental password protection. B/c Deadpool and so much more good content will be left in limbo (aka Hulu)

They confirmed by the way the Netflix shows are coming to Disney plus Canada version very soon. They just have the wait for the US. But they will most likely do it surprisingly with all the gore and violence in the shows. Also heard while back they were think of adding an 18+ section on Disney+

At 16:00 when you were talking about Karen joining Frank that reminds me of Rachel cole alves from the comics who basically becomes punisher’s Robin. She’s even a red head like Karen is in the show. So honestly not that far fetched. Fun fact about Cole-Alves, she was supposed to be featured in a 2013 punisher fan film that marvel shut down for looking too real and good enough to pass for an actual punisher show/ movie

Clancy Brown really is a good actor. He was in Shawshank as the brutal guard Captain, he was in the Flash CW show, he was in Invincible (you should really watch it), he played Lex Luthor in the Justice League animated show, and - very surprisingly! - he plays Mr. Krabs in Spongebob!

I like how he straight up kicked Nobu's ass this time.

I've only seem up to season 3 myself but is it not implied by the autopsy ninja that they somehow don't have hearts? thats why Matt can't find their heartbeats? As in, if they can have an autopsy and but living clearly there's something different about them. Do they not have hearts and been brought alive by that cauldron thing. Could be very wrong on this but thats just what I thought. Can explain more if people need.

I know Holden and Jen will probably not read this, and they'll do what the patrons want but, even though the other Marvel Netflix series are not that great, you should, at least, watch Iron Fist before the Defenders, to understand the plot (villains) a little better, and Jessica Jones (this one because IMO is the best show after Daredevil. Watching defender without watching the other shows for me is like watching Infinity war after only watch the iron man movies. That's just my opinion!
