My grandfather got a piece of ear cut off by Trujillo. And my grandmother used to do the laundry in the family house. Scary stories they had of their experiences. May they both rest in peace.

My great uncle was a priest and had all his nails pulled out from his hands. Very sad story because he would not put Trujillo picture in his church because he was not god not a saint. How crazy. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you for sharing! It feels like most of DR still carry the trauma from Trujillo's rule. My mom recalls her mom reacting with glee when Trujillo was taken out. It was that bad!
