This was incredibly dumb. Pufferfish are potentially lethal to other fish and can still be swallowed by large fish at times. The larger fish and the puffer will both be at risk.

I always introduced new creatures at night with the lights off. They wake up n everyone’s just there n they all figure their supposed to be there. Once I started doing that, and making sure there was always caves and stuff the smaller fish could reach safety, I never lost anymore livestock when introducing new ones

Doesnt work on my catfish, I've got 2 channel cats that make quick work of minnows at night. I do it at night just so the cats have the opportunity to get them before my gills, but also the minnows cant see them swimming up to them

Works with my chickens too. You try and introduce a new chicken in the daylight and they group will peck the shit or pig out. Sneak em' in there a night and in the morning they don't realize what happened lol. Yeah it'll get picked at a bit here and there, but no where near the amount doing it the other way!

We have a reef tank and thats how we introduce new tank mates. Our sailfin is a jerk and usually sniffs out the new guys but after a day or two peace is restored . Its a 300 gal tank so plenty of hiding apots for the newbies if they need to retreat for a bit. And feeding time is always a good way to settle aggression. One minute there is bullying and the next they forget over some mysis shrimp snacks

I hope your food bucket and acclimation bucket are different or look different at least. Fish (especially saltwater ive noticed) are smart enough to know when theyre being yelled at😂 and smart enough to recognize a familiar bucket so when they see the food bucket it equals dinner time in their head so yeah i hope acclimation bucket doesn’t look like food bucket 👍🏾

Almost any animal is that's not really a smart thing just common sense and the only animal to lack common sense is us so XD same as how sharks like to hangout by the cleaning tables on the cocoa beach pier I grew up at its a common sense thing "food comes from this and I like food" lmao it's kinds like how a toddler learns there's food in the fridge .... It honestly depends on the fish breed ... Here in my aquarium there are 3 big fish with one Lil one .. and they are friendly... That's what they show me anyway...

@@britos131Groupers are known to predate on poisonous fish like Puffer fish. The only thing that saved this guy was size and luck. If the grouper caught him head first or any higher up, the spines would’ve gotten caught in his jaw and both would have died. My guy was just way too confident that his groupers, the poster children of _’if it fits in my mouth, I’m eating it’,_ wouldn’t try to snack on a new, smaller fish.

You should honestly put them in separate tanks.It's basically, if you put them together, one will be risking of getting eaten, and is risking to get spikes for lunch/dinner.
