I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) in Jan 2023. I was completely paralyzed and on a ventilator for months. I am now slowly recovering and in therapy since June 2023. I’m still doing therapy everyday to get back on my feet and gain a full use of my hand

Such an inspiring story! I'd been diagnosed with GBS in May this year, and though my condition is still far better than yours is that I'm only paralyzed my arms and leg, I've struggled mentally so much for not being able to control my limbs. Your story gives me a lot of hope and motivation to overcome this battle!

I truly believe that as long as you don’t give up, you can defeat GBS. You are so much stronger than you think, you can overcome this and once you do, you will see that life is beautiful and it worth to go through hell to continue to live. Your life is beautiful because your family and friends around you have been there in your darkest nights to support you, and you are not alone in the battle. Stay positive and stay strong my dear, GBS - get better soon 🐢

Your video truly showed the strength needed in rehab process & importance of family support. Sadly you also pointed out how insurance can impede recovery when there are limits on quality/length of care. I faced that after my stroke in January & reoccurrence in March. I spent 8 months in rehab but was threatened w/being moved to long term care floor. I’m now in a group home until I’m able to live on my own again. Your story is inspiring !

Hi Lisa. I understand how frustrating it is when you need medical attention but the insurance doesn’t care! I was in an ICU for 3 weeks, I was then transferred to PCU for around a week and the hospital was pushing us to transfer to a long term facility care. I then transferred there and after 4 weeks the insurance threatened us that they would have to send us home with a ventilator. We were terrified! How could we feel safe to be home when I have so many complications. I hope you will fully recover from it. I met some stroke patients while I was in rehab. I know it’s not easy but keep fighting, you will get better. I did know some stroke patients was able to overcome it and walk out of rehab. Thankyou for sharing your story 🤍

It’s really nice to share your bout with GBS. I was diagnosed with GBS April 20, 2024 and still recovering and having continued therapy at home after staying in the hospital and rehab for 40 days. I was very lucky that my condition was diagnosed at a very early stage. I still feel the numbness and tingling sensatiion on my hands and also having double vision. My speech has improved dramatically and was able to walk but still struggled to balance myself because of instability. But I’m getting there hopefully one of this days I’ll be able to walk at least with a cane instead of relying on a walker and a wheelchair. I get tired easily when I’m using the walker. Still having a little tremor on my arms. I think positive that I’ll be able to recover and conquer this illness before the end of the year and not years. I’m hoping that you get stronger and better every day. One thing that helps me, a lot of my family, friends and relatives that prays for me for my recovery. I’ll be praying for your recovery as well.

Hi friend, thankyou for sharing your story and encouragement. I remember when I was completely paralyzed, I was laying on the hospital bed and feeling so lonely, even though my husband, parents and friends were with me 24/7. I didn’t know about GBS , I didn’t hear any stories about GBS survivor. After couple weeks in the hospital I started loosing hopes. My husband reached out and called so many GBS survivors and asked them about their story and recovery, that gave me some hopes that I would be better one day. It was a long waiting game and I feel pain every single day. So I understand how you feel about the numbness and tingling sensation, hang in there my friend, we got this 💙

Hello friend. So far I’m still hoping for my rapid recovery. I was scheduled for radiation treatment for my prostate a week before I had the GBS, but my radiologist postponed it until my condition got better unto Dec 2024. Until this date I have no idea how I got GBS. I’ve been watching and educating myself about GBS, I really wanted to know. The one thing that frustrates me is that there’s no cure. So far I’ve been having appointments to see doctors mostly neurologists. Also having some test on my nerves and a bunch of stuff I never heard off. I’m also going to see a neuro ophthalmologist for my eyes because of my double vision due to GBS. I’m optimistic that after all these appointments they’ll be able to tell me things I need to do to get better rapidly. Again I’m hoping for your quick recovery ❤.

Thank you for your amazing story that you shared. My uncle was recently diagnosed with gbs AMSAN, he had diarrhoea , lost power in his lower limbs then upper limbs, then body and head. Now his in ICU which will be his 4th week, but the UK system is harsh, we can only visit him in hospital 2-7pm. Do you think his very lonely and is hallucinating because we don’t see him much and his not really responding properly with his eyes, the only movement he has is his eyes, the doctors are now thinking it’s something else, but when I introduced myself and said my name he looked at me for a good 10 minutes but I think his vision is blurry. Thanks for your story

Hi! I hope that your uncle give all the medical attention he needs at the hospital and he’s getting as much love and support from his family and friends. It was the only thing that kept me up, gave me hope. Let’s him know that he’s not alone and I hope someday when I visit UK, I will love to see him, to share his GBS story in person. Stay positive and hope he’s getting better soon

@@byuyen I feel really sorry for you. You seemed to be a healthy person and suddenly you are really sick. Do your research. A lot of people suffer the same way after the jab. Nobody deserves that. Try to get some help here. They have a protocol for vaccine damage. covid19criticalcare.com/es/covid-19-protocols/i-recover-post-vaccine-treatment/. Good luck 🍀
