Your hair has grown tremendously. I suggest no high pony tails for now. High pony tails can cause tension to those thin edges. You have an awesome hairline. Giving your hair a "break" is key. Less manipulation..those wigs are killers to the hair. I literally put on a wig yesterday, and could feel the stocking cap snatching out hair! I kept it on for an hour lol. Castor oil saved my hair & hairline. Good luck on your journey

I have a wig grip. that or the wig fix. they are gentle enough for chemotherapy patients. My trichologists would probably like her to throw away the brushes and the edge control too. The thing is that if you've grown up with that Instagram look in your head it will be hard to get rid of.

100% agreed with the buns. Anything that creates too much manipulation (over combing, abrasive brushing with gel and tight/sleek ponytails) can hugely compromise an already sensitive/weak hair line. A lot of us don't realise that 50% of hair care is technique NOT product. To see the best/fastest hair growth, focus all your technique/routine/product on helping the scalp thrive and preserving the ends of the hair. Anything, and I mean ANYTHING, in your routine that compromises any of those two points will hinder your hair growth and length retention. Key fact: You DONT need to oil your scalp (oil hair, yes but NOT scalp) because it produces its on natural oils. Oiling it can actually be more damaging to its health

Stems from childhood, we need to learn that our hair is our crowns, natural, curls, tuff, coils, relaxed/texturelaxed 👑👸🏽 also the attachment/obsession with weaves/wigs we have all been there all been through that stage but so happy we can evolve and now appreciate what grows out of our sclaps 💕👑🙏🏼

I don’t think is nothing to do with Stems from childhood, more to do with the weather and water which is full of chlorine. Very difficult to keep Afro hair in condition in winter, the wind will blow your baby hair. Plait it’s not really good for baby hair either because of pulling. I have relaxed my hair couple weeks ago in 2 years, all beautiful for now but if I leave it for too long it will break.

Luckily I grew up in a black majority country in the Caribbean and I've been to Africa twice. I grew up seeing all kinds of hair types. I had a teacher at school who all the boys had a crush on but she was bald. My mom didn't have edges when we were growing up so my sister and I are super obsessed with leaving our edges alone. I rarely use edge control. For winter, I embrace head wraps. So November to March, I look like an African queen with my head warps. For the chlorine water, I use a chelating shampoo every 4-6 weeks. I moisturise my hair twice daily with distilled water, rose water, the As I am castor-oil water or another store-bought mist. I steam my hair daily with a hot towel. I wear wigs about once or twice a month and not longer than 24 hours and I don't sleep in my wigs. I only use the Got2be for my wig lace and it's just the closure not the full frontal. I have no idea what it is like growing up and not looking and being like the majority of people in your class and in your society...even just walking down the street or going into a bank or office. I recommend all black people travel to black majority countries.

If you want your edges to grow back then you really need to stop putting tension on them - your ponytails look tight! Doesn't matter how much oils and massaging you add to that area, it's tension and pulling that'll continue to break your edges. Speaking from experience, other peoples accounts and from my own edges growing back full. All the best in your hair journey ✌🏾

@@bli3168 I guess a lot are relaxing their hair because they want it to appear “long” not knowing that only healthy hair can grow long and full long term whether than damaged hair. Mariam could also achieve the same look by stretching her hair with regular strings for about one or 2 days. No relaxer needed at all. That’s what I do mostly when planning to wear a ponytail or before I conrow my hair since the curls be stucking on my nails 😅 going natural = treating your hair as natural as possible.

@@countessofmontecristo3849 that’s why I said long term. S.Okimi clearly does have long hair in her DNA don’t mean it’s healthy to relax hair. But simple growing long or healthy hair out of scratch while using relaxer won’t be beneficial at all ..
