This is the 10X12 greenhouse we bought at Harbor Freight. It took me about a month to completely build everything from start to finish.

Beautiful job. Where did you get the fan and temperature switch?
@mrslane5 ай бұрын
I got both on Amazon. Here’s the temperature switch that controls the fan. a.co/d/im4rT0C . I don’t see the fan on Amazon but that’s where I got it. I think it was just called a greenhouse fan.

You know what I just remembered. I have a question. I think it’s the smartest thing you ever did not to use those clips! Now you said you screwed the panels in instead. Can you tell me what kind of screws you used the measurements and on the inside did the screws poke through?
@mrslane3 ай бұрын
I used self tapping screws and yes they do stick through the other side but you can’t really see them inside the greenhouse unless you’re really looking. I got them at Lowe’s. After I put them in a bought a mountain of clear silicone and went around every single panels edges so water wouldn’t get it and I also put a dab on each self tapping screw so water couldn’t leak over time around where the screw went in. I have to say I’ve only had one small leak since I built it and I got a tube of silicone and it fixed it. These greenhouses are like a house! You will also find something to add to it😊

thanks for sharing. my hubby is building ours today. how did yours do over the winter?

It did great! I bought a HeatStorm 1500W Wifi heater for it and it works pretty well keeping it warm unless the temperature got below 30° outside. The Wifi is so easy because you can set it to keep it a constant temperature inside during the day and night. Now when the temperature dropped lower than 30° I used a kerosene heater in it and it worked great. I bought a new kerosene heater and so used the clear kerosene that doesn’t make any smoke or bad smell because I didn’t want it to discolor the walls inside.

What length 4x4s did you use in the corners? What kind of grease for doors?
@mrslane3 жыл бұрын
I’m thinking we used 10 ft 4X4’s in the corners and put them 2 ft in the ground with concrete around them. We bought lithium grease off of Amazon and that works perfect! Someone suggested that and we tried it and it worked great.

could you have not used the metal base frame and just attached the greenhouse right to the 4x6's? I am slowly building the same greenhouse in my back yard
@mrslane3 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert, you can certainly do that. We just didn’t. We went ahead and use the base that came with it and just attached it that way. Some people recommend attaching it straight to the 4x6 without the metal base so it’s your preference. Good luck on putting it together. It’s not very complicated. My husband squared up the base with the 4x6’s and helped me attach the metal base to it then I did the rest all by myself with the help of my 11 year old son. It took us about a week working in the afternoons after work to get it all together.
