Welcome to what might be my hardest rebuild yet in Football Manager 2024, this is our fourth FM24 one-off rebuild on this channel and today we are rebuilding Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga 2 (or at least attempted to!) with some huge transfers and crazy results - can we help take them back to the top of German Football?

Lyon and rdw Molenbeek have the same owner. To avoid ffp the owner bought nuameh with the other club and loaned him to lyon

That’s the club Jake O’Brien was on loan at last season. Lyon picked him up this year transfer window. Watford and Udinese do the same. Forest and Olympicaos. A lot a teams have Belgian affiliate clubs because of the relaxed work permit requirements, but I think that’s changed.

As a Schalke Fan i really enjoyed your Video. Unfortunally i cant give you a thumbs up because of the Bvb Box on your shelf. It was funny to see Keke with one great Season and than leaving to Arabia. Nuamah is really interesting for sure. The owner of Lyon and RWDM are the same John Textor. To avoid financial restrictions that Lyon faced, rwdm signed him and loaned him to Lyon immediately. Also signed him for free in my save and my god he is good

my save went slightly differently, i sold litterally everyone i could which saved the administration, they took another loan upto 255 mill debt. im in season 4 qualifying for europe, but i get 25% of sales and am still in 190 mill of debt. So i keep losing quality and having to develop season after season, im getting around 15 mill budget a season. absolutely loving the save, real FM when you have to operate in such bad circumstances. Assan Ouédraogo and Keke Topp are both absolutely class, also signed vidovic like you who is excellent. good video mate

You actually got quite lucky with the new chairman. 😮 I also tried a schalke save (knowing I wouldn't receive anything from the transfer gains), but after just 1 or 2 months the club went insolvent and basically was unable to operate and the board just started selling everyone (including the young guns). It's really random, how fm handles their debts. Can be good or as bad as possible Frustrated me so much, that i changed toca Bochum save, which is fun as hell

Hey man, i don't know if you tried it but you can ask the board to increase the amount of money you get per transfer. Normally the board does it by itself but sometimes they need a little push. Its nonesense that they have you in the UCL with 0%. Great video btw. Lol i just saw you said you asked them. Nevermind😂

Schalke were my beta save. I got promoted, but lost Ouedrago to Bayern for 700k (board accepted for me) and they also sold my training facilities. Glad you managed to hold onto him! Also is it just me or does Kiliann Sildillia look like Chris Kamara?

interesting rebuild there Jake. I guess it is time to visit the Spanish 2nd division to bring back Real Zaragoza to compete at the very top. Birmingham could also be an option to take over. Let's see if you can do better than Rooney and bring them back to the Prem.

If you havent done them already i would love to see a Wigan Athletic rebuild. Going from a regular in the premier league and challenging to europe drop all the way down to league one mainly due to financial issues is heartbreaking. More so because they are my hometown club. A series of poor owners has almost killed the club. Would love to see them get back to the top

jake, i just downloaded the 98/99 database for fm24 from the mad scientist. its insane. Ronaldinho is 18 at gremio, aimar and saviola are at river plate, Maradona is a free agent, gazza is at boro. its amazing. that would be a great save. remember how good Parma was. Buffon is 20. just an idea mate. they have all the retro kits and logos too.

currently in november, they went into admin, sold a couple players, sold the training grounds. then a new chairman came in and wiped out most of the debt and now i'm fine :)

Could you rebuild Toulouse FC, we won the French league cup recently but the manager was sacked et our owner are willing to sell us to another conglomerate which only willing to make some money and have zero true interest in our club. That rebuild would be much appreciated

Schalke was my primary FM23 save and it wasn't that hard. I sold everyone over 25 (as usual) and built the team around Assan Ouedraogo with Young (6'8 Brazilian GK), Keke Topp leading the line, and Max Normann Williamson at CB. The key was using the "exploit" where big clubs will continue to bid up your players when you reject them, over and over and over (it's not an exploit, it just feels like it). Man City paid $111m for my #3 striker (Blendi Idrizi) in season 2. Go look at that player. He's not worth HALF that much. Also look at the Selin brothers (6'8 Sebastian, 6'7 Liam, both GKs). Great values with upside (depending on how their potentials are rolled). Also, Keke still has growth in him. He was 6'5 by season 4 in my game. This year with the Middle East clubs, it's going to be SO much easier, money wise.

what is original mode? Playing as Barca is easy af, you have insane talents and you just have to wait for them to develop and that is it. In fact, there is no hard challenge with known teams in FM. Even Schalke is easy, easy league, and the FM is easy in last many years. The only hard challenge may be are lower English leagues to win both Premier League and Champions League with such team, or if you play without transfers and use just your academy with some poor team, since AI in FM is dumb af.

@@yizzy3782 Just trial and error. You try one match with different tactic 10 times if needed. Once you find the tactic Match Engine can't deal with, it is over. For example, in FM 2021, 4-4-2 diamond, with shadow striker, and if he is tall, like Gravenberch for example, AI can't deal with that. You don't have to search for tactic that replicates real life, or that make sense, you just watch the games see what works. Again, in FM 2021, inside forwards don't work. So you use wingers. Wing Backs don't work so you use Inverted Wing Backs. Tactics from real life never works, but you can always find one that does not make sense but works. If you can't do that, just use one of the Knap's tactics.

There is no such thing as "hard challenge" in FM except if you play without transfers and you only use your youth system in some poor team. FM is very easy in last many years and the AI is dumb af.

7 Bundesliga wins in the past is wrong. They never one the Bundesliga. They won the predecessor 7 times. last time they one it was 57/58. The first Bundesliga was 63/64

Dude….make your vids with more love. You miss so many details…for example you were on rank 2 all the time and only won the league on the last matchday. Also a take over like here should be not allowed, its too easy
