Your description of the limitations of hearing aids are spot on!

I've been wearing a hearing aid since I was a little kid in my whole life and now I'm 30 years old. I was embarrassed that I was deaf when I was in middle school and then moved to the city to a new middle and high school. I always thought I was the only one who wears hearing aids cause mostly I see older people wearing them except in elementary school in the 90s. I'm happy that I don't get embarrassed anymore and it helped me to hear it better.

sometimes I cry...I was told I have hearing loss in my early 20s, and I needed aids asap. I ignored the doctor, but now I wear them.. they talk about Dementia and stuff, and I'm already forgetting things. its so scary.. it could be because I suffer from Tinnitus which is always a constant ringing in my ears. One minute I'll say I need something go for it, and then say to myself. WHY AM I HERE AGAIN... then inside I try to remember, and start to cry a little...

Thank you for making this video I can relate with you I also am deaf and hard of hearing and have worn a hearing aid most of my life You have helped a lot of people to be aware of how they can help understand why we are the way we are.

Thank you for sharing! This is so interesting I had moderate hearing loss as a child, thankfully mine got better with age. But grew up with a profoundly deaf friend. So it’s interesting lean how others cope xx

Thank you for sharing your story. I’m not sure if this is helpful but when you we’re talking about not hearing your alarm in the morning, for early starts I set the alarm on my Fitbit which vibrates on my wrist and wakes me up. Always set a backup alarm just in case but so far it’s always woke me up without disturbing my partner x

Thank you for sharing your story. I am going to share this video with my sister in law as she has recently had hearing aids fitted. She had an op in her ear canals. I’m not sure exactly what was wrong, but I believe it was a disease that was attacking her hearing in some way. I know she was worried about people noticing the aids, so I’m sure your video will help. 💛👌 And, I never would have known you had hearing loss and had not noticed your hearing aids at all in your vlogs. 😊🥰

It probably didn’t help because I was so loud when we were growing up 😢. You have always been such an inspiration and I know some of the struggles you had but not all of them. 💜

What devices do you wear? I havd a moderate hearing loss in both, i was embarrassed by the look but ive learnt that sound quality is priority!! It doesn’t matter how they look. I just want the best sound quality.. i have Widex moment RIC’s because those are the only ones on the market that actually accommodate musicians. Also, you probably might be better off with molds if you have more of a moderate hearing loss.. I always use molds and I have moderate hearing loss. Domes don’t work for me

Hi Caroline 💗I came across your video by accident as it mentioned hearing loss! As you can see from my profile these are the hearing aids I wear! I have worn hearing aids for nearly 40yrs,I was curious to know what that was strapped to your top,it reminded me of my first hearing aids,they were body worn ones,you had a box like on your top & wires leading to button type receiver in the ear,they were the most powerful the NHS did! Around a year ago I found out I had usher's syndrome type 3 which affects hearing & sight! I am classed as profoundly deaf on a hearing chart with 110db loss,I can only pick out a few words & I lip read which was hard during covid with masks! I bet you struggled? Plus at night & poor light I now have to use a long red/white blind cane so I am technically deafblind! But what people don't understand is deafness & blindness is a spectrum! I get called a fake because I look at my phone & may hear on speaker phone on a good day! My speech has now suffered,I am told I have a deaf accent,like I am holding my nose! I am told nobody would know your deaf from your speaking! If you don't mind me asking what is your loss now? And do you think you will get cochlear implants,I am deaf enough for them but I don't fancy an operation plus any residual hearing would go! But once my hearing aids are out it's virtually a silent world but thankfully there are vibrating & flashing alarm clocks & special smoke alarms! May I ask why you changed from solid earmoulds to the thin wire & domes as usually the deafer you are the more the NHS get you to have solid earmoulds! I think coloured earmoulds would suit you! Sorry for rambling,I have a form of dyslexia & auditory processing disorder so I have to write everything like this! I cannot sign because of it all! I would love more videos on hearing loss & especially if you get an appointment to have another hearing test! I am lucky I have the most powerful BTE hearing aids the NHS do they are the Signia stretta UP rechargeable all I have to worry about is keeping them charged! It's good to see a young lady that loves her hearing aids & wears them all the time,have a word with your audiologist but around 10 yrs ago the model Kellie moody was the face of Siemens/Signia hearing aids & was promoting waterproof hearing aids,with her pictured swimming in them! Maybe Google it? I hope you have a good Christmas & like me a silent night 🤣🎄⛄❤️❤️

Hi I’d like to ask in terms of dating how did you overcome such an obstacle in your life ?

Left my hearing loss so long and when I went hospital they found what looks a cancer growth so underwent surgery and mri scans etc and now that’s all over they want to take ct scan in the coming days or weeks to see if I need bone reconstruction surgery. Just had moulds taken and waiting for my hearing aid. I’m nervous !! I have moderate to severe hearing loss in right ear
