Excellent video! I am an Electrophysiology tech (assistant) student and I greatly appreciated viewing this from your/patient perspective. An SVT ablation was the first procedure I ever observed and it is remarkable to watch and see the benefits first hand. So happy to hear of your recovery and good health! Your video will continue to help others for years on end. Speedy recovery and good health wishes to all!

Went to the emergency room after a three hour long tachycardia episode one week ago. Was diagnosed with WPW and had successful ablation surgery three days ago. Have never felt this good! This technology is a real miracle. Thanks for sharing.

I had this procedure done in 2007 when I was 53, because I had 3 episodes that would not stop on their own so I ended up being taken by ambulance to the ER every time to have my heart stopped with medicine so my heart beats would normalize. The last bad episode a cardiologist at the hospital asked if I was interested in the heart ablation procedure. It was a very new procedure back then but I was ready to have something done. So I had it done, but they couldn’t get the bad spot in my heart to fire while under anesthesia so they brought me out of it. Finally it worked. It was a long procedure. But it’s been 14 years and I have had what feels like my heart wants to start racing but so far it never really gets started. I sure hope it doesn’t ever do that again, ever! Glad you got this done. So scary when your heart goes crazy.

@@ronalddavis6457 Don’t be scared. It’s not that bad. I think the worst thing was lying on a stainless steel table with no clothes on and freezing to death while they did the procedure. The best part is when it’s over and you don’t get a racing heart anymore!

Thank you. I started your video a few weeks ago. I had my procedure on Jan. 17, 2024. It’s been 24 hours now and I feel pretty good. Just relaxing around the house. Wife taking great care of me. I do feel extra beats and flutters but nothing lasting more than a few seconds. I was not sent home with blood thinners. I’m assuming that is because they did not stitch the puncture area. Your video was amazing!! I pray that your journey continues the path that it’s on.

Thank you for telling us about your story. It helps those of those that are anxious about getting this. I’ve had SVT since late teens and it’s so debilitating. I’ve had it in an exercise class or in a shopping mall, on trains and at work and in bed and anything can trigger them. They only ever mentioned ablation this time I was in ED Resus. Had them for 5 hours at 180bpm. So scary. They’ve offered me verapamil but I’m anxious about taking meds too. I think I will go for the ablation. My life would be so different without wandering if I’m going to have an attack or not. I appreciate videos like this. Thank you. I’m glad you’re well x

I have shared this with a few friends (they have all have heard from me about TheWildYam lol) and the passion I have for learning from your experience and expertise. Backwoods/canoeing stuff...I have a ton...but I still learn from you. But the mix of what you bring every week...like this week...a little late getting through the things that I am passionate about watching, but life is always challenging/exciting/scary at times but so worth enjoying everyday. Take it easy...but thanks for sharing your experiences...I know I feel enriched. Thanks.

You were spot on and mirrored my first ablation experience. I had the procedure for a different diagnosis, Atrial Flutter. The procedure worked for that particular heart issue, but during the Holter Monitor period, I experienced rapid heart beats of a different nature. That was diagnosed as SVT and I will be going through the same procedure that you had in another ablation August 31, 2022. Wheeeee! You articulated your experience so well and I encourage people who want to know more about ablation to watch your video. Obviously, you technical expertise with video/editing is highlighted in your presentation. I am happy for your outcome and and it was a pleasure to have watched your video. Thank you, I feel that you also were encouraging people to get help, if needed. Bless you and family, you are a shining star. Be well!

Thank you so much for sharing and I’m so happy you had a positive experience. It’s certainly made me feel less alone. ☺️ I’ve had SVT/AVNRT for three years now and the anxiety related to wondering if an attack will come on is just debilitating. 235bpm recently mid-flight, for almost 30 minutes - an hour and a half out from destination - and after vagal maneuvers weren’t working, had to be shocked with an AED while conscious to get it to reset. I do not recommend it. 😫 So, now, I’m waiting to see my EP and to discuss ablation. This has given me more confidence that it’s the answer, and makes me feel less nervous about getting it done. Thank you again, and I’m so glad you’re doing well. 😀

Fantastic - I had this procedure for SVT and PVCs 3 weeks ago and am fantastic. The horrible thing was the wait for an OR opening because I wasn’t considered an emergency. I also had the problem as long as I can remember - and am 78 now with the problem having me dreading every day throughout 2023. But I made it to 15 January 2024 and relief. I never had long periods of SVT like you but my PVCs - beat, beat, skip, beat, beat, skip, with no ventricle fill each skip. Weakness, lethargy, and the mental depression. Finding your story - more confidence I will be back farming in a couple months when the snow is gone.

Thank you so much for this. I’m a 15 year old and I have had SVT for around 2 years. It is very frustrating and painful when I do simple things like walking up the stairs or picking something up that my heart starts beating insanely fast, usually around 180 bpm. Recently, I went to a cardiologist and they saw nothing, so he recommended me to go to an electrologist in which he said I had SVT. He gave me a choice on whether I take medicine or get the surgery, in which I took the option for surgery on a whim because he said there’s a high chance the SVT would be gone afterwards. However, I am a very pessimistic person. I have been so worried about that 1% risk of death. So worried that I’ve been fixating on that and only that for the past 2 days. I cry because I’m stressed out and don’t know if I should back out. I was even thinking about making notes to all my friends telling them how much I love them LOL. Despite all this, I have made up my mind. The surgery is tomorrow when I’m commenting this and I will do it. I’m just so sick of the constant annoying pain in my heart. I want to live normally with no heart problems. So I’m doing it. I will update you guys if I remember. Otherwise, I’m dead or just forgot lol

I had a double Abulation on Monday to correct my AF rhythm after 2 cases of VT left me in a AF rhythm . On my second case I was hospitalise for 3 weeks and they fitted me with a ICD pacemaker . My device is very clever the pacemaker is there just incase a vt rhythm is detected it is life insurance policy really. So this really changed my life as a very fit person a passionate cyclist and my first VT happen when I was racing cyclocross I have always rode bikes , raced bmx as a youth . Well now at 51 I left the hospital in full sinus rhythm the first time for over a year. I’m resting up now but enjoyed your video so , thank you have a good day .x

I had an ablation for PSVT in 97...had noticed the fast heartbeat when I was 5 years old...got more often as I got older. Meds would do ok but then nothing. Many visits to the ER and the IV of adenosine then met a doctor who introduced the ablation surgery. Thankfully I was an ideal candidate...still have some pvc's but nothing like the 260 bpm like before🙏🙏

My surgeon couldn’t stimulate any arrhythmia during the procedure but did find several anomalies which he ablated. Fingers crossed that he got it. Another 3 months of uncertainty while we wait to see. Thanks once again Martin

Thank you for the video. I will need to make a decision in a few weeks on an A Fib diagnosis. Great help.

Thank you! I have been on meds for years and they are getting less and less effective. I have been so nervous about this surgery but this was very helpful!

I just had a heart attack & found I have a PR interval problem related to my Lyme disease. I have daily symptoms of fluttering & tachycardia. My blood pressure is low 90/58. Right now I have an option of medication or ablation. Thank you for the video
