Btw there’s a translation error at the beginning of this episode because what Monoma was actually trying to say is that, ironically, him and Shinsou must always act in a "unhero-like" way to be heroes. Monoma can only be useful if he can copy other people’s quirks so if he ends up alone on a battlefield while time runs out, he must be capable to trick the villains into touching him to copy their quirks and keep the fight going. (In a way, this also means that for other people, Monoma doesn’t really have "his own quirk" which is why the kids in the flashback were mocking him and saying that he can’t be a hero with "that quirk".) As for Shinsou, his quirk is hard to activate once the opponent is aware of his brainwashing, so he’s basically always forced to trash-talk to get a response from the enemy. That’s why he was so shocked when Ochako asked him for help, for once in his life, he’s using his quirk in a real "hero-like" way. This may be the first time in his life he didn’t have to talk trash to use his quirk, thus also why he was thinking so hard about what he should say to Deku. Like "Wow, I can say something genuine for once??? I can say something nice?? I don’t have to make myself sound like a douchebag to get a reaction???" Overall really sweet haha. Doesn’t mean that Monoma was wrong when he said that they’re always forced to act "unhero-like" because of their quirks but still a nice moment. The side manga is called MHA: Vigilantes. It has backstory for some characters like Midnight and Miruko and we learn more about Aizawa's character.

The translation was a bit off, but the 6 quirks that will manifest in Deku includes Blackwhip. In the Manga the user says "Get ready you're about to get all 6 of our quirks!" So he'll have OFA as normal plus the 6 quirks of the previous users.

Monoma isn't wrong, if not for being able to copy someone he would never have made into the Hero Course like Shinso who's power wouldn't work against robots. They're both at a serious disadvantage against gifted students like Bakugo.

Loved Monoma’s conversation with Shinso. Gives more insight into his character and why he has a rivalry with Class A. People always told him that he can’t be a hero with his quirk, then he finally gets accepted into the top hero school and is then upstaged by Class A. He even tells Shinso that the two of them have to sometimes be unheroic to maximize their potential if they want to stand up to the greats. The episode mistranslated his line as “we must always act heroically.”

The side manga is called My Hero Acadamia Vigilantes. It roughly take place 5 or 6 years before the events of MHA and the point of view is from those who cannot be the heroes they want to be. The MC doesn't enter hero school but wants to be a hero and ends up being a Vigilante, which is against the law.

What's wild is that they hint at all this back before the Sports Festival! That was back in season 2!! When All Might is telling Midoriya the origins of One For All, he mentions that the quirk AFO gave his brother (the power cultivation) and the quirk his little brother had to pass down quirks merged to create One For All. The implication that OFA could merge with other quirks was there the whole time and doesn't come back around until this moment! I'm so excited for what else Deku can do in the future!

You need to watch invincible you two would love it. It's one of the greatest superhero shows, it's incredibly violent. The first ep is supposed to throw you off a bit but finish it and it becomes amazing.

Monoma has my favorite quirk of the series, I'm hoping for some development later on. Other characters have been able to change and improve arbitrary aspects of their Quirks, I see no reason why Monoma won't one day increase the time he can have a Quirk copied. It'd be seriously cracked if he improved it to be able to use two (or more!) quirks at the same time.

TBH im not happy with Dekus multi quirk option now. Im deliberately avoiding the manga, But this is getting close to Naruto ass pull territory. OFA is already powerful and Deku's journey to mastering it was good enough. While most others have one qurk to work with Dekus will now get wildcards.
