All Might’s design is based off of American comic books, that’s why his design is so familiar to you I’d assume.

His name is Izuku Midoriya, but his nickname given to him by his bully is Deku which basically means "useless".

Im a big AoT fan, but mha has a lot of heart and very likeable and relatable characters. The plot is simpler and very enjoyable.

Only thing I've seen people complain about MHA is that there's too many training arcs. Like, it's _My Hero Academia_ ...wtf did some people expect

Just because everyone has a power doesn't mean they're all useful.

Quirks are technically part of a human evolution. The users of quirks are really just evolved humans and they are evolved to be more streamlined. That is why scientist were able to determine that if someone has two joints in their small toe then they are an unevolved version of human (normal) and do not have a quirk. I probably could have explained this in fewer words, but I don't know how.

This is a perfect “starter” anime I’d say. Just a really consistent anime with great characters and a plot that gets better and better with every arc. I curious to see who you guys’ fav characters will be lol

all might is mainly using super strength, no wind power or flight.

The MC's name is Izuku Midoriya. In Japan its normal to call someone by their last name unless you are close to them. So his teacher and most of his classmates call him Midoriya. Naturally his mother calls him Izuku instead of the name they share. As for Deku, that is actually some Japanese word play based on his name, but it doesn't translate well. Still it is really just the bully that calls him that.

Bakugou is my favorite character; it just takes a while to see his character development! Doesn't change that he's a jerk right now though.

One quick thing, while 80% of the world's population has a quirk, not all of them are superhero level quirks. Some are more basic in nature which is why only a small amount of kids go to these schools for those who wish to be a hero. You can see that with some of Midoriya and Bakugo's classmates. Some could grow a horn or make their fingers stretch. Not all powers are growing 50 feet tall or controlling fire & ice or shape-shifting.

The pinky toe thing doesn't have anything to do with the quirks themselves. It is just a genetic indicator. People with quirks have the genetics to have a quirk, and those same genetics for whatever reason, only give them one joint in the pinky toe as well. It's kind of like sickle cell anemia. If you have the genetic sickle cell trait, you are much more resistant to Malaria than most people, but you also are genetically more likely to be anemic. It is the same gene that does both things. So the gene that gives quirks also erases a toe joint. So if you have two joints, you don't have the genetics for a quirk.

put the same poll on youtube for fun, I can't believe Hunter x Hunter didn't win the poll, it's considered one of the best Animes created ever, while MHA is considered good on average (there is a growing fanbase that considers it trash nowadays), to the point where Big Time KZfaqrs like RogerBase stopped reacting to it. don't get me wrong, I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it, but you're gonna forget about it later, on the other hand, series like One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, AOT (there are others too) will leave an everlasting impression and memories which will be engraved into your brain.

Not spoilers. All might doesn't have a bunch of powers. He can't fly. He just jumped. He doesn't have wind powers, that was wind from the force of a punch. His powers are just incredible strength and speed. And durability, but that goes along with strength..

I've bee re-watching this series with my sister and honestly it's one of my favorite animes of all time!! I can't wait for you both to get further into the story and see how the characters all grow!! I love it

YESSSS OMG I CAN'T WAIT! Just as a heads up, the first season can feel a LITTLE slow, if you manage to get past this season you'll absolutely LOVE the next few. Even I love first season but people feel like it's a little slow paced, give it some time and enjoy the ride :)

I just absolutely love that matter of fact realisation that this show's name sums up what it's XD Also if you guys want, you should try watching this dubbed. I personally think that both the Sub and Dub of this show is pretty good there are a few characters here and there that have better voice actors in either version but overall, I'd say its worth checking out both ^_^

Bakugo is an interesting case because whatever his development is (he gets worse, he gets better or he stays the same in terms of attitude) because of how they tend to treat this kinds of relationships chances are he's never gonna ask forgiveness for (or even admit to himself that he was completely wrong about it) not only beating deku, that doesn't really matter, but for inciting this basically crippled kid to commit suicide and all of the other mental abuse that he probably subjected him to, the only reason he doesn't have a body on his hands is because deku was strong enough to take it, deku's va himself said something like "ah but he didn't completely destroy the notebook" and I'm like "dude, could you not" He could become one of the nicest characters and (again, chances are) that this event or series of events are probably not going to get acknowledged going forward, you can maybe say that he doesn't remember bc for him it was just another Friday but there are ways of addressing his change without him remembering, like putting him on a similar position with another quirkless person and reacting on a better way, he doesn't have to stop being rough he just needs to not be like "kill yourself and pray to be reborned with a quirk" he can say "you dumbass, you are going to get killed and endanger other human lives, if you want to get killed so bad the least you can do is not drag other people with you" and I would consider that an absolute win (Worst thing is after the 1st airing of this episode he was the most liked character among the anime watchers wich, idk what to tell you, Japanese public do be kinda weird)

In Japan middle school is 7th- 9th grade. So first years are in 7th grade second years are in 8th and third years are 9th grade. High school in Japan is the same as middle school but different. Fist years are in 10th grade second years are in 11th grade and third years are in 12th grade. College is the same as every where else all four years or more depending on the degree your going for.
